Will this new refrigerant raise the cost of equipment and installs? Looking at having a Lennox 4 ton heat pump installed. Debating installing now or waiting until next year.

I've heard it may increase costs 10-15% but I honestly don't know. Everything, absolutely everything, costs more (too much) so it's hard to tell what's part of the advancement or just... y'know... the circumstances.

Good vidieo but all these customers that have older system gonna blow gasket when they find out theres no partial.replacement coil, just condenser gotta do the entire system mo money mo money 💰

I'm of 2 minds on it. 1- that's just the rules with this new refrigerant. They'll have to deal. 2- I've probably done 2 coil only swaps the whole 10 years I've worked. Usually when ones gone, it's all gone.

@@bikerbobcat I agree it's mandated. That's why I had a new Carrier 410 Infinity system installed last month. It will at least buy me 10 years for all the bugs to be worked out of the 454b systems, and for the techs to become more skilled in installing and maintaining them.
