This was an absolutely brutal match up- both in terms of factions, and in terms of players. It's like two giant, extra reinforced brick walls slamming into each other at Mach 5, with one being made of self repairing material and the other being made of bricks of pure diamond material. This is the kind of match up that embodies what makes aos such a great game. Both players had to pull out all the stops and really try to play to an ever evolving strategy, instead of one side just decimating the other while the one being decimated has to really pray they can rack up points before they're completely removed from the game. The new flesh eater courts are superb, but slaves to darkness are still an amazing faction with tons of potential, even if they don't have the best win rate at events currently. I don't care what anyone says, they can hold their own if you actually play strategically.

awesome battle report, nice to see the new FEC and since i recently started s2d im always happy to see them. while i really like archaon i dislike that the board is so empty with him as hes almost half of your army, i will probably get him too but not sure if im going to paly him, 5 units is too little for me (i played soulblight and skaven before so even my other s2d lists feel so small already)

Been playing s2d for a few years now, I don't even own archaon yet. For one, not a fan of named characters in my lists usually, but REALLY not a fan of a single model being more than 1/3 my list. I don't get to play often but I've yet to have a game that I didn't actually do well with them. You just need to remember it's a strategy game with objectives.

@@minacapella8319 yea, hes a big investement, id loove to have a chaos lord thats a bit tankier and/or harder hitting than the chaos lord on manticore would be awesome to fill in the gap and have some big piece to roll the eye of the gods on, karka lord is fun too but 9 wounds, 9" move isnt ideal imo, manti lord is meh and after that there is just belakor and archaon

@biowiener7825 I mean, karkadrak lord outclasses manticore lord in literally every way besides movement. And is ONLY 180 points, doesn't take up a behemoth slot (I know we barely use ours but still), and can't be the target of as many battle tactics from the enemy due to not being a monster. And yeah sure, having monsters is nice. But a monster hero who can't be guarded by look out sir and does little to nothing compared to cheaper options isn't as good as a non monster who is able to be guarded, hits much harder, and is a bit more unique looking.

Yeah got the base colors on for the skin with just an airbrush, but I went in and did more details by hand afterwards

Guys a question, what happens with unit coherency? I dont think you can deploy the ghouls in line like what you did or the corvus cabal in circle....

both of those positions are legal; a) with 25 mm bases (which as less than an inch) so long as your end 3 models are base-to-base, each is within 1" of two other models. b) in a circle, each model is within 1" of each model on either side of it, satisfying the 2 models within 1" requirement.

We just defaulted to using the opposing actual tower terrain pieces, but your right he could have made it his charnel throne, though it may make his grand strategy less likely to accomplish.

I think the new FEC battletome is totally shit, once again all the great things that made me love and enjoy playing an FEC army have been removed. The Flayers have now become totally useless, Horrors still only hit the 4+, no more free summons of units, stupid points system, Reviving units and models is only possible using the points system, no, it's the worst battletome ever
