I needed another toner to replace my stolen one. I decided to give this new Fluke active filter toner a try. It cost about $50 more then the standard. Its supposed to be able to filter out allot of background noise.

I think an important point to add is the non-filtered toner is good for tracing but if your wires are crossing with a live circuit is going to interfere and you're fucked. If you get the filtered you still get a clear signal even if the wire you're tracing is in the same raceway with another live circuit

"Flukes come down in price...its not much more expensive than the other stuff nowadays" and then "Its kind of annoying that its made in China now. Everything is made in China these days" Gotta pick one, man. Cant have your cake and eat it too.

Use Fluke micro test and put it on inteli tone and use your 3000 probe it will over come the noise from the network switch.

I bought the 3000f60 after loosing my old 26000900 toner (found it a few months after purchasing the new one lol). Actually like that the toner stays on but did notice that the case flap is definitely cheaply made compared to the older one (yellow Fluke logo) as a month in, the fabric has already ripped by the velcro.. overall, like the filter improvements (even though I do notice it has a small reverb effect on the sensor)

Wouldn't the probe that stays on allow you to walk back to the tone generator and clip it onto different wires until you hear the probe go off? Just curious

Loud probe speaker is audible in noisy locations, turns off automatically after 5 minutes to extend battery life

Hi, Thanks for the review. I believe you mentioned a preference for the unfiltered 26000900 over the newer model. What was better with the older model?

To tone a live cat6 wire crimp a wire pair into 2 holes in an rj45 that are different color (dont the holes for the brown wires those are poe) plug it into the drop and use the clips. On the switch end the wires are connected by the same color pairs so youll have no continuity and a loud tone. You can also put rhe red clip on 1 wire and ground black. To see if its connected to a switch to being with use the toners rj11 to test for continuity.

I actually like the older pro 3000 better. The filter and button is annoying on the new one.

If you only connect one alligator clip to one wire when toning a cable connected to a switch, the switch won't drown out the tone.

So how was the 3000f60 in the field compared to the non filtered probe?

I notice the network clip that you use to plug into a port is really cheap. It's the old style where the clip can break easily. This should be snagless. Anyone else notice that?

I know that this is a post from Feb 2019, but, you mention that you are having some type of difficulty toning cables attached to a network switch. Remember, if you have your tone module attached to a cable, that circuit is dead, and can be disconnected at the network switch for "full tone." Tone probe volume simply isn't an issue in all but the loudest of equipment rooms. Just disconnect the "dark" cables one at a time at the network switch. The right one will immediately be detectable. ("always," if it's a good cable)

I picked up a filter probe a little while ago and I didn't really feel like it made a big difference. Tried it on a live jack that was plugged in on a switch port and it wasn't what I hoped for pretty much the same thing as the regular fluke 3000 probe. Still playing around with it in the field so time will tell.

You do understand all you're getting is a filter for cross-talk, right? If you're trying to tone on live shit you need a digital toner, not the analog toners. You need the intellitone 200 from Fluke.

Скажите пожалуйста почему fluke pro3000 пищит при приближении на каждый провод 3×2 .5 ? Или я что-то не так делаю? Как к примеру найти обрыв если все равно будет пищать?

No you cannot use it on live circuits. You will burn out the tone generator.

You need a green lee circuit seeker or an ideal SureTrace Circuit Tracer. Both are gonna be about $1000. I’ve seen used ones on offer up or eBay for $200
