Bridgeport Transit used to have 2003 D40LF buses but are sadly retired by the 2017 XE40 and XD40s but only 2 more existing that are #4301 and #4302.

Ever since the Neoplans were retired, THESE and THESE ALONE are what remains of the MBTA's Diesel Bus Fleet (that and the old school buses they have in storage & use for special occasions). Now that I know that the D40LF are next on the chopping block, I fear that they won't get the proper send-off before retirement like the Trackless Trolleys did back in March. *One possible way I think the MBTA could do is take 1 or 2 of their D40lf, as well as 1 or 2 of their refurbished DE60LFR and repaint them in the Silverline livery, paying homage to the old C40LF & the Neoplan an460lf CNG that used to run on the Silverline's SL4 & SL5. The problem now is that how many of the D40LF & DE60LFR are still in service? And if the MBTA is willing to host a historical event like that? They did so with the Trackless Trolley, so it could happen. Just saying, the D40LF has been a part of the MBTA since the early 2000s, and It's only fair that they're given a proper retirement instead of just parking them in a parking lot at one of their train stations like they did with their Neoplan an440lf & Neoplan DMA buses* (Yeah, I checked & they're STILL parked at Wellington Station (unless they're security has increased, those buses will continue to be looted by trespassers)).

I agree 💯 percent the D40LFs should have their own event like the trackless trolleys instead of being parked in a yard like garbage not to even mention the MBTA is really stupid for retiring good working diesel busses in the first place

No. The XN40 are CNG. Ur thinking of the XDE40, which are diesel-electric hybrids.

NE Transit updated 19 active 2 stored. 0653 is at Albany Street Garage, 0604 is officially goast bus. not on Out of Service or scrap. Silly NE transit marked 0605 two times on Removed for scrap.
