NEW Focal Aria Evo X N° 3 Impressions

Bought the Aria 926 a while ago for around €800 a piece. Doubt this will have enough improvement to justify an upgrade, looks like little has changed..

That wording for Walnut is vocal way of saying it’s wrapped in vinyl and not real wood

C'mon man! It's genuine simulated walnut. But seriously, I had a hard time finding them locally, but I'm sure glad I waited. I listened to a pair today via a Rotel Michi X5, and they still sounded as cheap as they looked in person. I'm beginning to question WTF people who rave about all of these (overpriced IMO) floor standing towers are listening to.

I love the Focal Aria, but let’s be honest, these so-called upgrades are simply an attempt to refresh/reboot this speaker given that it’s about a decade old. The actual “sound improvement” is going to be almost indistinguishable from the previous version. I’m ok with that though if it means they are considered current again (i.e., circa 2024)

It got a new TAM tweeters for wider sound stage and TMD suspension for vibration reduction. The upper frequencies were raised to 30kHz. The previous ones are 28kHz. I have the old Aria 926 which sounds so good to my ears. I believe this one has a bit more refinement and imaging. Apart from that it’s pretty close considering the structural design of the speakers and the flax drivers are similar.

Hi, What size model Focal Aria Evo should I use in a room that measures 19ft long x 11ft wide x 10-14ft high? This room opens into another room that measures 12ft x 12ft. Are HF very sibilant like the original Aria's? Thanks in advance.

@ListenUp my room size is 24×15 . I shortlist two configurations one is klipsch rf7iii with rc64ii and rp 600m ii surround and thx 502 back with 4 atmos 7.2.4 conf and second option is focal aria evo x n 3 with aria evo x centre and 906 surround and evox 900 with 4 focal atmos. Which configuration is best for dedicated home theatre.

I've got the Rf7III, and focal kanta 2, trust me the RF7 for home theatre is pretty much untouchable.

If the base has spikes it is being coupled to the floor. You want isolation feet to decouple it.
