This will be right around $36k. You guys keep dreamin'... thinkin' that it'll only be $29-30k. The top focus ST goes for $30k. I got my new 2014 Focus ST for 4k off retail for 22k. The RS, will be selling at sticker, for sure...:-( I'll save 14k and keep my ST, thank you...:-) Not knocking the RS , but 14k is a lot of cash.

Great presentation or Global reveal for the new Ford Focus RS. Heritage is important in cars, I would say Ford has a bigger presence as well as success in motorsports within Europe over the U.S.A. Dropping a comment in as an owner of the mk3 focus rs since it was delivered in 2016. It's now 2023 and the car has been a dream to drive, it's the only car that can put your back out of place and back in again within a 10 mile journey and smiling while it does it! Only 26k miles in that time and has never missed a beat. Though theres a ton of mods out there i've never really felt the need go faster so it's basically standard (with exeption to the gear stick and lower engine mount bushings feeling wobbly) I'm still keeping an eye out for the next RS model, as of now theres no news but likely it we be electric or hybrid.

Oh, and folks, turbo charging does NOT improve has mileage. It actually reduces mpg's, especially if your into the boost even mildly. Sad times these are indeed. And we continue to penalize CA for pollution that 85% comes from China, yes China.

Try getting similar power from a naturally aspirated engine of the same displacement. Turbocharging lets you get more power from a smaller engine, and as long as you're not aggressive on the throttle and constantly at higher rpm's the mileage benefits of driving smartly are greater than in a naturally aspirated car making similar power. The benefit is the fact that you can downsize the engine but get similar power so that it's there when you want it but uses less gas for regular driving. This idea has been around forever and is not unique to Ford by any means, EcoBoost is just a fancy marketing scheme. And let me add by saying that yes, if you take two otherwise identical engines and turbocharge one of them, the turbo car efficiency will suffer.

Why are there Americans selling European cars when in reality the US hasn't had much to do with hot hatch backs at all. All of a sudden the US are jumping on the band wagon, pretending to have been there since the dawn of the RS and it's thanks to them that the RS brand is so strong. These cars have a rich European history...

RS Management: Wow, I can't wait to get my hands on a high-performance, 5-door grocery getter! Now, RS Team, after watching the presentation, the entire lineage of RS products, sans one, were ALL coupes or 3-door hatches -- true sport-oriented vehicles. When will FORD understand that performance image vehicles, like the current Mustang, are 3-door hatches or coupes? Audi, Mercedes, BMW, even FIAT, Honda, and Hyundai produce such vehicles -- FORD? No, ugly, 5-door hatches are really cool -- honest -- bring back the Scorpio! How about a modern 3-door RS Focus or Fiesta! Having owned a 1965 289 Mustang, a restored 1967 Cortina GT, two 1971/2 Capri 2000s, a 1973 Capri 2600, a 1985 RS 302 Capri, a current 2002 SVT Focus, and a regularly vintage raced 1971 Capri Trans-Am race car, I will NEVER purchase another FORD performance vehicle unless it is a 3-door hatch or coupe!

I don't think this car will perform. I mean, when a stock 2006 Honda Civic Si can out accelerate a stock 2012-2015 Focus ST, you know something is wrong. Or the fact that all BMW, Benz and Audi models in base form with their tiny 4 cylinder turbos (BMW 320, Benz CLA 250, Audi A3 1.8T), out gun the Focus ST... The new Honda Civic turbo Si coming is going to stay light, and will handily dust any future Focus ST, and put heat on the RS. Ford needs to step up and provide reliable, true performing vehicles, on 91 octane (like all the other domestic cars and even most Germans use), or get out of the performance car market. At this time, my $$ is going to a new 292 Golf R which will be 200 lbs lighter than RS, and looks to be faster than RS. Thanks ford, but my $ is leaving the family after 30 yrs. The product has gotten disappointing. Especially when a base, base Fiesta is as heavy as my old 1988 5.0 LX sedan and today's German manufactures are making their cars lighter gradually.

In the 70's, 80's and early 90's (Escort cosworth), cars were made by ford with a tenacious hunger to outstrip other cars in there class and also be practical. That era has long gone it would seem? Unless Ford produce something ridiculous, I don't see the "RS" badge holding to its name. Eco boost is nice if you want fuel economy and some power. But for example, my mondeo ST24 was glued to the anus of a focus eco boost 2013 plate (260bhp) along some random A roads, even the police car mondeo ST eco boost couldn't keep up (obviously I pulled over and said sorry). From that moment on i just thought fords are pathetic in terms of straight line performance. It did handle nice but not massively better than my crusty 00 plate mondeo??? WTF!!! Stop making your cars heavy!! and sort your s**t out!! if you intend to put an RS badge on it!!

As a one time Craft Apprentice of Fords I am not sure that the USA involvement into the rest of the Worlds Ford Industry will be good since over the last years it has been the USA that caused European Ford's near destruction. Sorry but the best of Fords is still in Europe what is left and here in Europe Fords needs to build a healthy industry first.Sir Patrick Hennesy said to us the new Apprentice entry,"Ford ENFO,needs a stable domestic market to build it's stable export market upon".Well it seems to me that USA Ford are busy breaking up ENFO and German Ford aswell as Belgian and Spanish Ford. Now Ford says they will only build SUV's and trucks ?????? I do not trust Detroit Ford ! Sorry Be Blessed and I hope UK and German Ford will remain with the other European Factories with European Products. AMEN.

Are the dampers passive or adjustable? I had a previous generation RS in 2009 and although I loved it, could only keep it a year though as the ride quality was appalling. Spoilt it for me. Love that this car is 4WD and five door. Very tempting......

How to test a cars looks is put it in a walmart shopping parking lot, if people walk bye it without a second glance at it you f ' up, this is like duping up a ford pinto and saying we hope you love it. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.. your going to be single and the only date your getting is Bubba in jail... I wouldn't take this car to the Ghetto, they would shoot me for having somthing so ugly. . Or driving on Daytona Beach.. They only let cool rides there with style everyone else gets told off by the beach patrol this car would get towed out at owners expense..

The big downside here is to much tail out cornering, which means taking corners wide will cost you the race while others cut past on the inside. Also, the biggest problem with Ford is they rate their vehicles on 93 octane, which 80% of the U.S. Only has 91 octane. So deduct 10-12 hp and tq.

Loved watching all the cars, history ect but that presenter spoiled it, clearly didn't know anything about cars and worst of all clearly wasn't even a true ford fan!!! but what's even worse is bringing that fraud ken block into the build, I know his only advising on handling ect but the handling of the escort was one of the main things that made the car special and to have a fraud such as ken block have any say in how the car handles is a bad bad mistake by ford, I won't be surprised if its been ruined in terms of ride quality, all ken block knows how to do is look fast by driving extremely loud cars with massive engines so he can spin the wheels easy creating masses of smoke... yea looks cool but its not fast or how,to drive ect.. Just look at his attempt at racing latley with the ford fiesta, his sponsored by the biggest spending sponsor in sport, his car has had hundreds of thousands spent on it, all the extra perks money can buy ect and he is barley keeping up with the front runners!!! You know if he was driving for a team with limited funds he wouldn't even be keeping up!!! So yea it saddens me knowing he has been involved in the new escort rs as iv had every single model to date!! I realy hope you didn't listen to his advice ford!!!

This car was probably one of the biggest disappointments in ownership experience of a ford product in modern history. I honestly have never seen a vehicle that went from customers paying list plus to then reading of the head gasket fiasco and drive line leaks to seeing the cars appear on the second hand lots in such a short period of time.
