Kuga Plug-In Hybrid: Available from launch, the all-new Kuga Plug-In Hybrid delivers the driving range and freedom offered by a traditional combustion engine alongside the efficiency and refinement of an electric powertrain.
The power-split architecture combines a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle petrol engine, electric motor and generator, and 14.4 kWh lithium-ion battery to produce 225 PS. Ford’s first plug-in hybrid in Europe to deliver a pure-electric driving range in excess of 50 km, the Kuga Plug-In Hybrid is anticipated to deliver from 1.2 l/100 km fuel-efficiency and 29 g/km CO2 emissions.*
The battery can be charged using a front fender-mounted charging port, and is automatically replenished on the move using regenerative charging technology that captures kinetic energy normally lost during braking. It is anticipated that to fully charge the battery from an external 230-volt electricity supply will take around 4 hours.
Drivers can choose when and how to deploy battery power using EV Auto, EV Now, EV Later and EV Charge modes. When the battery reaches its lowest state-of-charge, the Kuga automatically reverts to EV Auto mode - supplementing petrol engine power with electric motor assistance using recaptured energy for optimised fuel-efficiency.
The all-new Kuga further enhances the SUV driving experience with an advanced suite of driver assistance technologies designed to give drivers confidence behind the wheel and help them to stay focused while on the move.
Sophisticated Ford Co-Pilot360 technologies enhance protection, driving and parking, and are designed to make the driving experience more comfortable, less demanding and safer.
Ford offers the Kuga full hybrid in six trim levels: Cool & Connect, Titanium, Titanium X, ST Line, ST Line X and Vignale. What they all have in common is the Ford navigation system including the Ford SYNC 3 communication and entertainment system with AppLink and an eight-inch (20.3 cm) touchscreen, DAB/DAB+ digital radio reception, steering wheel remote control, Bluetooth hands-free system and audio streaming and text message reading function.
A tailored spectrum of choice includes differentiating executions for Kuga Vignale, ST-Line and Titanium variants, each with a unique character to reflect customers’ personalities. With contemporary and confident styling, Kuga Titanium is indicative of the high specification and quality that will be offered to customers across Europe. Highlights include a sporty front skid plate and rear diffuser, body-coloured mirrors, side cladding and door handles, LED daytime running lights and standard 17-inch, or optional 19-inch alloy wheels.
The upscale Kuga Vignale conveys exclusive specification and meticulous craftsmanship through bespoke Vignale ornamentation including satin aluminium finishes for the roof rails, bumpers and rocker inserts, as well as unique, elegant front and rear bumper designs. The exterior also features signature Vignale chrome finished front mesh grille and twin tailpipes, alongside standard 18-inch, and optional 19-inch or 20-inch alloy wheels.
The all-new Kuga offers even more intuitive comfort and driver assistance features, keeping customers better connected on the move. Sophisticated technologies include a FordPass Connect embedded modem, wireless charging pad technologies, and Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system supported by an 8‑inch central touchscreen. A premium B&O Sound System produces a high quality audio experience, and a new industry-first, free-form, 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster with “true colour” that is more informative, intuitive and easier to read.

The drivers position in this car suits me very nicely. But front seats could use more side / back support, tested Titanium trim. I felt it to be quick entering round abouts. Better than my current manual shift car anyway. Though my current car is not bad to drive, the Kuga is more responsive. Not the fastest 0-100 kmh ever, but enough for me.

The current Kuga is old hat, as within a couple months you will start seeing the new face lift model with the Ford badge mounted in the grill 😀 as in the focus and fiesta

Lovely car. I do like the Kuga and it's nice to see the Titanium X added to the PHEV lineup. It doesn't look right on 17" alloys...need at least 18 minimum on an SUV. It's also a shame that the kuga is no longer a capable tow car as there are hundreds of caravanners with the mk1 mk2 and 2.5 kuga. We have a 2017 Titanium X with 180bhp and 295 Lbs ft of pulling power so it looks like I'll have to keep my diesel kuga until the government force it off the road and hike fuel prices up to £5 per litre!!!!!

There are far too many buttons on this for my liking. It would look a lot sleeker inside if they put most of them via the touchscreen. 18 buttons on the steering wheel alone?? Very cluttered. I agree the wheels should be bigger. And the rear parcel shelf is just a piece of fragile material 😩 however, the comfort of this car whilst driving is much better than my current Audi A3, plus the hybrid engine is very handy at the moment with the price of fuel. This could be a luxurious car if Ford paid a bit more attention to detail on the dashboard and installed a proper rear shelf. Thank you for a very detailed video
