I Enjoyed this film Dave, especially that Boundary Stone you pointed out over the fence. I had a personal interest of Boundary Stone/Markers in Weymouth/Portland over the years. I’ve photographed/ documented all of them that are accessible Dave. Sad they are often forgotten about and left hidden overgrown, or removed, stolen etc. So thank you for highlighting them Dave🙂🙂🙂👏👏👏👏

Thank you Peter. I enjoy researching for boundary stones on "old" maps and seeing if I can find them today. Although it is not always easy to find them - particularly in Dorset!

Another interesting walk Dave. When I travel to the New Forest in the busy summer months, I often opt for the A35 through Ashurst, which avoids the congestion on the A337 at that awful junction at the top of the High street. But apart of watching trains go through Ashurst station, I've never ventured into the Forest. I actually lived and worked at Ashurst for a short time in 1999.

I worked a season on the campsite Dave and Logan circled on this walk and it’s been lovely seeing what was my back yard for a year. Like all the ex-Forestry Commission campsites it’s an ex WW2 airfield but it was actually a dummy set so close to Southampton so if the Luftwaffe spotted it and fancied bombing it they wouldn’t do any damage

There is so much interesting "WW2 History" to the New Forest - with plenty of evidence still there to be found even though much of it is gradually being reclaimed by nature.

I want to go with my dog but worried about water supply, any tips for me please?
@DaveFord5 жыл бұрын
I tend not to allow Logan to drink from streams in the Forest. I always have fresh water at the end of a walk in the car. On hot days, I carry a water bottle designed for dogs (has a drinking scoop to it) as I showed in my video walk at Fritham.

@@DaveFord I dont fancy carrying lots of water on me but if their is streams of running water I boil the water to be safe.
