Many thanks. A "short" walk but the cafe was a super place to finish up at.

I fully agree with you that navigating in built up areas is much harder than in the countryside! Stunning autumn colours. Walking right now the trees are still very bare. I thought Logan was looking back to see where we were!! Looks like he was having fun later though! The usual great mix of history and lovely scenery. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you.

Thanks Jean. I have a sneaking suspicion that Logan had spotted a squirrel (although he has done so many of these film sequences now, he probably knows that we have got to go back to get the camera!).

What a beautiful day for late November. And still too ,in contrast to the stormy weather of last week. I remember noticing a smell of diesel in the air a few miles from Fawley oil refinery .A very interesting video, thank you Dave.

Thank you Dave and Logan, brings back memories of going to Tatchbury for pony club events back in the early 60s. Take care.

Thanks Karen. I loved the bit of woodland / copse leading up to Tatchbury Mount - an enchanting area to walk through.

Nice walk Dave, even though that walk is on my doorstep I have only done a small part of that walk. You are so good at finding good walks sometimes in unlikely places, thanks Dave.

Thanks Peter. I was out filming at Ridley Wood today and included your Oak but although I found a large Beech, I am not convinced that it was the big one that you filmed! There are some smashing old trees in that wood for sure.

I live 5 mins from here,you've solved the mystery of where the manor house was thank you .

It really is surprising how much history there is around that area.

Nice one Dave. Lovely weather for it too. I enjoyed the piece where Logan was someway behind you, but suddenly stopped, looked back and clearly thought to himself “You’ve left the camera behind dad. Should I go back a fetch it for you?” Great walk through a new housing estate, clearly built on a green field site. I don’t how they get away with those things?

Thanks Lionel. Yes, sometimes I think Logan should be in charge!

So lucky to have this on my doorstep , spent many hours playing up here when I was a kid and still do lol ! I had a few friends who reckon they got in some tunnels from the basement of the old mansion that were apparently smugglers tunnels that stretched down across the field. They got so far but couldn’t get any further for whatever reason I can’t remember. No idea if there was any truth in the smugglers tunnels rumour
@DaveFord2 жыл бұрын
There was certainly plenty of smuggling in the area in days gone by so it would not surprise me!

At 10:30 Logan is saying "Dad, you've forgotten your camera! Oh well, you know best."
