Happy Monday team, we hope you enjoy this as much as we did! This is our 1st time back playing IRL Yu-Gi-Oh! in a while & we were super pumped to get testing for the new format! With testing comes a few hiccups, it’s only natural. We did realize a bit too late that in one of the VW games the Crystal Wing wasn’t properly summoned. Neither player caught it & that’s the purpose of testing. Good news is it didn’t change the outcome of the game at all!Every single game makes you a better player & that’s why we love this serious so much! Awesome to see you running Pure Eldlich and can’t wait to see the deck profile soon! Testing Eldlich Dogmatika on Master Duel and doing research has put Skill Drain into perspective for me as just a slower Imperm with a higher ceiling if your opponent can’t out or play around it. Really puts the squeeze on some decks more than others, so while you won’t always see it even though it’s at 3 now it’s definitely going to have to be played around which it looks like is already shaking up the format. Can’t wait to see how it evolves from here!

I use Skill Drain at 2 in Infernoids and it can be crazy. I actually do not play it at 3 cus it absolutely fucking sucks to open up with doubles... However with Skill Drain and Lair of Darkness it's just a wicked ass combination, seriously. Just tribute my opponents cards and regardless of effect negation. Then here's an absolutely weird ass ruling that I have to confirm with a judge, if you've activated Infernoid Decatrons effect before Skill Drain comes up it loses its new name and level gain, but it does not lose its new effect. I believe this is because in the text it says "replace this effect with that monsters original effect" which I guess is permanent even if Decatron gets negated later on. In platforms like EDOPRO Decatrons new effect still works with Skill Drain up, but the platform is not good to go based off of, so eventually I'll confirm it with an official judge as soon as I run into one. Infernoids become weirder and wierder, also with Infernoids because their effects resolve in grave if they tribute themselves they're not bound by the effects of Skill Drain. Decatron is just a really weird card, for example if u use Called By The Grave to negate Decatron, u have to use it on another Decatron in grave, not the monster it sent to the grave with its own effect even tho it gained the name of said monster.

Nice duels you had in this video and congrats on winning a booster pick. You're good and i wish i were that good at dueling. My dueling skills are average. I used to compete in a couple or few tournaments in the mid 2000s but i quit competing entirely mainly because i never won a tournament which losing sucks and i was one of the players at the bottom ranks. I didn't like leaving the tournament empty-handed especially when the tournaments have an entry fee. Also, I wish Konami didn't create Link Monsters and Pendulum monsters mainly because Links and Pendulums made the game more complicated and confusing for me. Do you have any advice on how to build an Obelisk deck that's good enough to compete against the Meta deck crowd?

Yes it was an honest mistake, I could’ve literally grabbed anything else in grave. It’s locals, we’re testing, mistakes happen. We noticed afterwards but it didn’t change the outcome of the game and no one plays perfect at locals :)

I think in game 2 the VW player shouldn’t have been able to chain e-tele because you have to discard for Xuan Wu’s banish to special summon

Yes that is how xuanwu is ruled when chaining the last card in your hand to it. With e-tele at 3 we should see this interaction more often now one of the few ways vw can plus in this deck
