Hello, absolutely agree with you. I’m so happy with this purchase 🥳 I was blown away by my first Bortnikoff fragrances, I blind bought Oud Maximus Autumn’19, Oud Monarch and Musk Khabib in 2020. In 2021 the best purchase was Areej le Doré Classic set with Oud Zhen, Russian Musk II and Ottoman Empire III, I love them all and they were my first Areej purchase together with Cuir de Russie. And this year his Classic Collection is absolutely wonderful.

@@juliscent very nice! I missed out on the earlier ALD classics so these are my first from Adam. Although I’ve smelled the History of Attars collection and may pickup Beauty and the Beast. Currently, Bortnikoff’s Oud Maximus 2020 is still my favorite Oud, but these new classics are giving some stiff competition! 🥰

@@scottmcarronlewis Yesss, agree with you about Oud Maximus, it’s also my favorite oud fragrance (Autumn’19). It has some magic in it, beautiful florals, natural Oud, amazing. I also bought Strangelove NYC Dead of Night 15ml, it’s reminds me of Oud Maximus, but with less Oud in the dry down. Beauty and the Beast is one of the best from that collection. I also really enjoy Malik Al Motia, beautiful very natural jasmine in it.

From what I’ve tried, Areej le Doré and Bortnikoff are on the top for me. I actually love a lot of Bortnikoff fragrances as well, especially his compositions with floral ouds and citruses. How do you rank Ensar Oud? I always wanted to try his fragrances. This year I also really enjoyed some more expensive Roja Parfums fragrances, especially Fetish and Diaghilev. Lots of good scents, I have take Russian Oud because I love this. I would have sprayed them on moiulettes to smell them without making too much confusion because for extracts to spray 5 in to skin at once is a lot, 10 in total, you need to be very trained and in any case they are a lot, the same for noses.

This classic set is ❤❤❤❤❤! We’re lucky to purchase them. With that price, it’s a steal and the presentation, it’s the best i have experienced so far! I’ve not tested them. I’ll let them settle down and probably would start to wear them in a week or two but i’m already thinking of getting a back up bottle of OE IV and RO II.

I definitely get some Lao Nuances in ROii. But Russian Oud is more smooth. More spicy and lees oudy. Lao oud is more bold. I don’t get much oud in russian oud tbh.

Interesting that I get Oud Monarch (florals with Oud and tiny Chocolate) in the opening of Walimah and some aspects from L’Heure Exquise. Walimah feels that it could be created by Bortnikoff, love it, Adam did masterpiece here for my nose.

Today I’m wearing OEIV and it smells amazing, rose and frangipani are beautiful, but I’m not loving it more than my OEIII for now, it have to sit in the bottle for some time more. Lao Oud is my 2nd favorite Bortnikoff after Oud Maximus Autumn’19, Triad is 3rd one and then Oud Monarch and L’Heure Exquise (we’ve done a top 20 Bortnikoff fragrances in autumn 2022). Walimah, OE4 and Chinese Oud! Then Siberian musk and Russian oud. Overall I like em all. Russian oud is the one that I fe lacks some things compared to the original. Still smells really nice. But the others are definitely the ones making justice to the classics

But then he uploaded a review of Areej le Doré The History of Bengal Oud. So for now the only review of this collection for now is from us, which is sad, because we also want to watch what other perfume lovers think about this collection. @@juliscent I can feel your genuine admiration for the brand! I'm sure Ramsay will do a review soon. Very curious about Siberian Musk. The original did have the animalic undertone for sure but it was overall very soft, sweet and powdery. Hope the new formulation isn't overly animalic, since he boosted up the oil content to a whopping 50%. I know that use of real musk is a very delicate process where you have to walk the very fine line between unnoticeable vs screaming loud. Anyway, your review was very helpful and I hope to try at least a sample of Walimah in the future!

@@onewontdo Hopefully, you’ll try Walimah some day. Yes, I think ALD is a great house. I also love how Adam always brings the new amazing presentation. I love to wear Areej le Doré and Bortnikoff fragrances for my enjoyment after work, they bring me peace and amazing feelings. For my nose the base in Siberian Musk III and Russian Musk II is quite animalic. I love the opening and heart of these compositions, the base sometimes is a bit challenging to my nose, it depends on my mood 😄 And we’re waiting for Ramsey’s review on theses gems.

Hello, thank you so much for watching and great questions 👌 I already had a similar question yesterday, so -> Last 2 days I’ve sprayed on my hands 1 spray of Russian Oud II, Lao Oud and Oud Monarch to compare them side by side (forgot to spray Oud Zhen). Russian Oud II smells quite a lot like Lao Oud in first minutes of the opening, they both have some funky natural Oud smell which I enjoy, but it’s not barnyardy. Lao Oud is more animalic in the opening and it feels more intense in aroma profile. Then cacao/ dark chocolate becomes more prominent in ROII, I feel dustiness, smoky burned wood and warm balsamic feeling like in Oud Zhen. But Oud Zhen is bolder, deeper and very intense, it has a lot more smoke in it in the first hours. Lao Oud after about 3 hours becomes more floral and delicious like Oud Monarch, but with added coffee, animalics and delicious spices. Oud Monarch from the opening till the late dry down is the most pleasant for the nose out of them all and bery delicious. I love florals mixed with Oud and cacao in Oud Monarch (I have a wooden cap bottle). All 3 fragrances have delicious sweetness, all of them are addictive to my nose. For me Lao Oud is the most exciting of these 3 fragrances, it feels rich, deep and complex. The heart of ROII is very delicious and smells amazing, really enjoy it. Oud Monarch is the most beautiful smelling fragrance of them. For the price 250$ I think Russian Oud II is worth to have in the collection. Bortnikoff fragrances are more expensive - 350$ each, but to me they’re also worth to own. I’m happy to own each of them and love them all. If I had to choose only one of them, for now it would be Lao Oud. Cheers 🍹 Dmitry

So I missed out on Siberian Musk lll, but I did pick up Russian Oud ll. I have Siberian Musk ll and Russian Musk ll. I also had decants of the first release of them. I love it. I also have Russian Oud OG and Ottoman Empire OG. So I'm really not upset about not getting Siberian musk lll. Excellent review.

We’ve glad that you picked up at least one of them, ROII is a good fragrance, but didn’t blew us away like Walimah II. There was a huge drama about purchasing Walimah II yesterday 😵 It showed me that it was sold out after 2 min after launch, then it came back for some seconds and sold out forever. Wore Siberian musk iii the other day. What a furry beast! Super green, like a forest at first. But quickly the musk takes over. Musk is very complex, has some warmth, slightly powdery a bit sweet and a toon of pee lol. Very animalic, in a good way to me. Really shows how real musk is. Is not for everyone and can be really offensive for some people, without question the most challenging out of the collection to me lol. Less is more with this one, very powerful. All my bottles from this collection have also improved too, after more than 2 weeks now. They will even get better and better. Excited! Siberian improved dramatically to me, Walimah is also better too!

Wow, wonderful description, thank you 😊 The opening of SMIII is very pleasant and I enjoy it a lot. Citruses are growing in a pine forest with a lot of greenery on a sunny day. The dry down is about fatty musk, I also get pissy nuances, quite challenging for most people. Agree, it’s one of the most powerful from this collection and it lasts over 24h on my skin. I would say it’s the longest lasting of these 5. Wore Walimah II last Friday, it’s beautiful, interesting, complex, very well blended, addictive.

@@M4cKr0N Yes, all of them are bottle worthy. Amazing collection. I always wanted some more amazing floral perfumes from Adam and here they are in Walimah II, OEIV and Chinese Oud II. It was an absolute pleasure to wear OEIV to the beach last Sunday. I felt that it’s a bit lighter than OEIII. Still need to compare them more. Some day we’ll do a separate reviews on them all.

Which do you like best Russian Musk or Siberian Musk. I adore Siberian Musk 2 and 3 but I’ve never smelt Russian Musk . I want to buy it but I’m afraid I won’t like it. I do love animalic perfumes.

Hello, thank you for the question. I have RMII and SMIII. In the opening they’re quite similar, I feel like they’re from one family. In the heart and dry down they share similarities but doesn’t smell the same. RMII has additional smell of incense sticks like Nag Champa, it’s more foresty and green. SMIII has more musk smell to it in the dry down. In the dry down they both are quite animalic. For now I enjoy RMII a bit more.

Thanks a lot for watching 🤗 Today I’ve sprayed them both. I get some vibes from Lao Oud in ROII. In ROII there is also smoky Oud feeling like in Oud Zhen. Overall I enjoy Lao Oud more, but they both are great. I think ROII is worth 250$. More detailed comparison I wrote somewhere here in the comments earlier.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Interesting that there is no Ambergris mentioned in OEIV. Ambergris is in the opening of Russian Oud II. Julia got some fishy smell in the opening, but it faded away quite quickly. I haven’t got that smell at all. Dmitry

I bought OE IV and got a slight fishy vibe as well. It also seems lighter and not what was described on line for previous OE versions, which I have not tried. I do think the fishy smell is fleeting and will go away in time. It may also put on weight in bottle as wines often do, becoming less fruity and more dense over time. So I am giving it time but still an amazing fragrance as it is.

This fragrance is not for blind buying, because for some people it may be too animalic. I haven’t bought it yet personally, sometimes it love it, sometimes I don’t want to wear it…
