New season, new tournament, new marbles! As ML23 is around the corner and competitors are fine-tuning their teams, this series pops up to the marble world!
In this first installment of the Freak Marbles, 24 competitors divided into 4 groups will do 2 races per group on sand. The top 2 from each group will advance to the grand final which will be 3 races!

I think that there should be 3 races instead of 2. The scoring system at the moment basically guarantees that you move on with 1st place and also with 3 races you can rotate starting positions between outside, halfway, and middle.

Came to see/say this. With just 2 rounds, the only way to progress without winning one of the races is getting 2nd twice and one of the winners finishing last in the other round, to get 12 and 11 points. I may also be a little salty about myguy Tuffy being a point short with a 2nd and a 3rd.

Agreed. Had the same observation. It's basically two races with the winner of each moving forward.

Agreed. I think the drop in points from 1st to 2nd is just a little to large to give anyone a chance who doesn't make it in that top spot. Letting the top 3 advance would also make it more competitive while also giving us more marble races!

I think scoring should change slightly since if u win a race you’re pretty much guaranteed to move on. Only way you don’t is if you get last in the other race and another marble gets 2nd twice so they have 12 points while you have 11(winner of other race also moves on)

I think a good solution would be 3 races instead of 2. It would also allow full rotation of starting positions between outside, halfway, and middle.

I would suggest a simple 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and 0 scoring system for these races.

Don't like the point system. If you do not win a race, you can only advance if you finsih 2nd in both races or if same marbel wins both races.

With this point system, unless one ball wins both runs, likely the winners will be the ones that advance

The only way to not qualify if you win a run is if you get first and last and another ball gets second both times. There's an argument that Tuffy's consistency is more worthy of advancement
