It seems that the reason for that is the fact that the cart is not really riding the track, but simply attached to an animated 'arm' that moves the cart. For that reason, it would be literally impossible to have a left turn unless they were all left turns.

@@MundoDragon I know that but don’t understand how it would be impossible for it to make a left turn… The layout basically makes all right turns so they very well could have made all left turns as well. Especially for that slow, unbanked first turn out of the station.

My guy, that right hand turn is necessary due to space, the Japan expansion wasn’t very big, so having a right turn instead of going up the lift hill just makes more sense.

The cave scene everyone harps on, i can’t say anything about it yet, maybe it’s just the camera, maybe it looks better in person, but I will say at night, it works perfectly. Complete darkness, that’s how you do it.

I think the length of the ride is gonna kill people wanting to come back to this over the first few months. It's gonna always be such a long line to wait for such a short ride and other then that there is just one minigame and the rest in the DK side is just food. At least the Mario side had the main Mario Kart ride, a Yoshi slow ride, 4 minigames, AND a secret intractive game. So minus eating Mario side has 7 experiences while DK only has 2. The saddest part to me is the ride has such cool technology with the fake rail system with the real rail system hidden from view and this new system can move the kart up down, left right, forward and backward which helps add such new possibilities for themed coasters. Yet this only shows that off in such a short time.

I loved the concept but the execution seems very flawed… Why does a specialty coaster like this with the track on the right side only make right banked turns during the ride layout? I feel like it really ruins the illusion and could’ve been so much better by banking to the left, away from the track below. Also, is this the Donkey Kong music? It doesn’t sound like it to me. And seems like many more audio effects should’ve been used.
