@Sparky5132 күн бұрын
I tested A3 bloodlines with gas, and I won't be buying gas anymore I will say that. I papertuned after putting a few arrows threw it, took measurements on everything and the gas stretch and was getting bad peep twist after 500 arrows. A3 now over 3,000 arrows and hasn't budged, no stretch, no peep twist, still shooting bullet holes, ect. Only down side to A3 is their lead time. Think it was 5-6 weeks to get them in. And I got closer to 8fps speed increase with the A3 which I wasn't even expecting at all, seen other ger 10fps with the A3 bloodlines. I'm still not impressed with gas at all, they have great marketing and a cool name, are they quality strings yes, but when I can get better for cheaper or thw same price it's a no brainer. Also 2.5-5fps I'm not worried about, I'll go up a few pounds in draw weight if I was worried about speed. But that's their marketing at its finest, got all these idiots about to spend 200+ on strings for 2.5-5fps 😂😂 their geniuses

@@Sparky513 I'm glad I read your comment lol. After issues with my VEC99 strings from a very popular forum string builder I called Brent. Immediately after my conversation with Brent I ordered a set of b99 string/cable from him. The wait time sucked I wont lie but wow are they excellent strings. Pulled the string/cables off the paper clip meticulously on the install to find my cam timing was spot on right off the paper clip. Set my peep and tied it in and 3000shots later my cam timing and peep are still spot on. Brace and ATA are also still spot on. I chronographed my bow at a shop with my factory strings but haven't been able to catch them at a good time to be able to chrono my A3 strings yet. Doesn't help I figured out how to tune my own bows along with buying a press and do all my own work allowing me to buy used bows for good deals and set them up myself. This doesn't earn me points at the local pro shop haha. I did however have to note that my rip xv arrows exhibited weak spine after the A3 B99 string/cable install and I had to raise my 50 and 60 pins. But without numbers it doesn't matter. All my local shops offer Gas strings but one of them advised me Gas had been having issues? I can't confirm but the bow tech that told me this has been doing it a long time and he's a good bow tech and his shop still has Gas signs all over. Either way he adds sauce to your experience with Gas.

Honest question Josh I hope you have a response. How do strings made of Bloodline B99 from places like Catfish or A3 compare to these strings? My B99 strings have at least 3000shots on them and a season of whitetail hunting and the peep, timing, and poundage is still the same. Dropped draw weight from 70.5-69.5 pretty early into "shooting them in" and the poundage has stayed at 69.5# for a couple thousand arrows. I'm excited Gas has released these new strings it would just be great to see a comparison between these Gas string/cable and a set of B99 string/cables from someone.

I was skeptical when I watched PJ Reilly install some and he didn’t get but three if I remember right. Forty years playing this sport and building my own strings for thirty five years or so and also buying ABB, GAS, and others over the years too I just wasn’t expecting much. Would I buy them and hope for five or more? Maybe. What I really want to know about is creep, stretch and abrasion resistance qualities. Until someone finds/develops a lighter material with little to no stretch I’m just not expecting much more speed. And then if the find no stretch can the bows hold up. When Fast Flight material came out some bows built with Dacron didn’t survive the new material.

None, lol. Strings are a weird product. Its not like a piece of metal or plastic that can be identical product to product. Strings are as good as they have ever been but there is still a human element and every brand out there can produce a fantastic string and a crappy string from the same shop on the same day. Factory strings are just more mass produced and don't have the same level of detail and time put in them compared to aftermarket. I have used many factory strings and most have been sub-par with only one bow that surprised me being a PSE. For whatever reason they were solid strings that didn't move and lasted forever. I had another PSE and the strings were lacking... so what does that say, lol. At the end of the day aftermarket strings will always be better and almost all companies can put out a good string.... and a bad string. People tend to become loyal to a brand once they have a good experience with them. I have had good experiences with Threadz, Gas, Joey's and have tried a few others with acceptable results to... Worst has been factory mathews zebra. They were atrocious. Anyways, just sharing my opinion. Take care

Not sure it offers as advertised. A great set of preferred strings tuned would offer just as much. In a perfect scenario and I am sure they tested it multiple times but does the promise meet the price hike? A lot of string builders out there and this would be at the top end for strings that so far have not tested well. Would definitely be curious to see more string comparisons tested the same. My guess is they will all gain a little with proper tune and setup, these just do not seem justified as a speed string for the cost.

This is what u was just saying. Setting to the same specs will NEVER give you identical numbers . You can twist your cables a couple twists and still keep your same measurements. 2-4 twists in cables isn't going to change ATA , and brace height enough if any on most bows.

I appreciate string makers improving the construction and materials they use and anytime you get more speed with all else being equal, that's a very positive thing. But.... getting 2-3 fps spending the extra money AND losing the option to customize my string and cable colors, just isn't worth it for me. MFJJ I bought a set of Flo Orange Gas bowstrings from you for my Mathews V3X and I am very happy with the improvement (from factory Zebra strings) in performance and the looks are killer. The only way to increase the output of a bow if all other factors are equal is to increase stored energy or change the draw curve. (inturn change the stored energy location. Front or back) If you truly want to test, you need to draw a curve and see if the new strings are making the change. Im betting it's changing the draw curve and then increasing stored energy. If you were to put it back to the exact set point, you won't see an increase. if so, then it will be strictly the weight of the string. Would like to see you do a stored energy calculation. also, put the monkey tails back on, and your gain won't be there. The average fps lost with monkey tails is 3 fps.

I still like the BCY strings. 150 bucks now and I allways Chang my strings after season so I can break them in during the summer months. And then broadhead tune in August. I allway put my bow so it shoots 290fps and that is my sweet spot for my arrows with broadheads. So these gas string is not worth it for me. If I can get 2 years out of them without them looking like they are used and holds up for 2 years. I would say yes worth it. But speed not needing that. Just need 290fps that's it. I'll just flip my mod and put it to 70lbs and I'll be at 315-320fps with a 444grn arrow.
