Just a heads up, the same pokemon emblems (even if different tier like gold, silver or bronze) won't work together towards your colours. So best Sp. Atk. plus Cooldown build is trying to mix zubat line with gengar and then the green and black ones like vileplume, beedril, venomoth and victreebell

The emblems are really cool in concept, but it makes certain pokemon absolutely annoying to fight against (Delphox) to the point of being kind of broken. It does open new and different builds and comps which is always a nice thing, but if it becomes the meta to just spam cooldowns without any actual executional skill or player skill like positioning and timing then it becomes oppressive really fast

Well, if it were this way with the old Fire Spin, it would definetely be broken. However, now that Fire Spin doesn't chases you forever and is actually slower, even with this upgrade that the emblems give for the cooldown reduction, I don't think Delphox per se is broken. There are other pokemons that benefit more from cooldown reduction builds and some definetely can be interpreted as overpowered, like Sylveon or Cramorant, but they actually need to have good executional skills to pull it off and also are in more risk when doing this because not only they need to have some close distance on the enemies (unlike said Delphox that just spams moves at distance), but their enemies themselves are also stronger now that they too can have emblems to boost their power (4% more attack/sp. attack for those orange/green ones is not something to underestimate).

I main Delphox, and even with her, you need to have good positioning and awareness, especially when dealing with another competent Delphox. Had a great duel between myself and another Phox player last night. Our fight led away from Zap down to the beach, and I almost got killed because of one slip up. Also, especially at objectives, rather than just spamming skills, I'm always looking for how I can use them most effectively for area denial, checking bushes, etc

Face checking bushes and leaving a whole lot of space for the other team to invade is the biggest reason I lose objectives when not playing with a pokemon with a good secure or good area denial because if I don't do it, almost everytime no one on my team does it, however if someone other than me does do it (lol), then it suddenly (not really that suddenly hehe) becomes way easier to defend/take objectives.

@@tezminator This is so true. I think this becoming habit is something that takes a lot of awareness, which develops over time or with a good teacher. I have an irl friend who just started the game, and he's still rushing T2 goals by himself with 50 points cause he just doesn't know yet lol. But yeah, I find that since I'm still low in ranked right now, sometimes it's only me and one or two others trying to take Dred. I tend to end up throwing my Mystic Fires and basics at Dred while trying to zone enemies out with Spin. It's a weird time multitasking, but I kinda like it lol

As there are 4 emblems that are dual color (black/green), I am using 3 of them to max out both black (7) and green (6) synergy. This can increase the damage output significantly for special attackers.

He's more easily countered then other carries. if he misses a single move it's gg. Also full heal or safeguard hard counters him. Aegislash does as well. He's not that good once you think about it a little. In a vacuum though he is pretty annoying but so are most mons.

@@LeStacheman Full heal doesn't counter Dream Eater. You may not fall asleep but you do still get the Dream Eater damage. Most Pokemon will be easily countered if they miss their abilities. Talon would miss BB/Fly, it would be done for. Lucario would miss its ES/Close Combat/PUP and you could just kill him. Doesn't mean that the mon is not broken. Gengar is just one shot everything. The damage and healing is so broken, it's ridiculous they have it broken for so long.

Both of the mons you just mentioned have enough basic attack damage and evasion to outclass Gengar when they miss abilities. Especially Lucario. His ability and boosted attack speak for themselves. You even supported my point by saying Talonflame. Galewings is active untill you take sufficient damage. Levitate is almost never active.Talon one shots and can have longer invulnerability and way more mobility. It also keeps it's boosted attack for a very long time. They can't be compared. Edit:Not falling asleep is a huge advantage. Let's you dodge the initial shadow ball and the follow up. Dream eater alone won't kill. You need to get combo'd

Teeds, I've compiled some fun move interaction facts: After the last change of Lucario's PuP he stops at the hit target, that's not the case however if the target dies from the PuP's damage Pokemon have a facing direction that interacts with Absol's Pursuit, it is independamt however from it's movement direction so you'd still want to hit Decidueye aiming its Spirit Shackle and going backwards from it's back Both team's Delphoxes' Fire Spins spin the same direction, but from your perspective it's right round if you start on the grassy side and left round if on the sandy one

I like the concept of emblems, but they need to add more emblems (currently only 4 pink) and more ways to acquire. Would love an emblem shop to target specific emblems. I see them nerfing crit and cdr by half. Game has quite a damage problem at this point, quite bursty.

I feel like Gengar is one of the Pokémon where the cooldown emblems don't matter much because in both builds you get unlimited resets unless you miss which is when cdr comes in handy but I'd prefer playing sp atk on it since I prefer playing Hex.

it allows way more aggression since gengar's dream/shadow kit is that you have to completely commit and take them down otherwise ur toast if i don't get the reset off the cd it is SO nice and suits my playstyle personally.

QOTD: I don't feel the cooldown reduction from Black Emblems at all (Maybe it's just me). That's why I focused on getting the +4% Sp. Attack instead of getting the 8% move cooldown reduction.

You can make an emblem build that gives you full cooldown bonus with black emblems and full special attack emblem bonus by using the green/black emblems. Pretty good. I'm using: Bulbasaur silver (green) Kakuna silver (green) Butterfree bronze (green/white) Vileplume bronze (green/black) Ekans silver (black) Venomoth bronze (green/black) Beedril bronze (green/black) Zubat bronze (black) Gengar gold (from level up rewards, purple/black) Muk silver (black) This gives the max 8% cooldown reduction + max 4% special attack :) need all the emblems to further improve it stat wise. Stats: +30 hp -3.5 atk -1 defense +7 sp defense +28 mov speed -0.6 crit rate

I found an amazing build for glacion: Icy wind freeze dry full cooldown emblems and shell bell energy amplifier and buddy. The important thing to note is that you can keep your ice crystals without having to attack anything. So you activate Icy wind and then you just need to dash again before the ice crystals disappear. I would like to see Teeds play this build its super fun and pretty good :]

The green and black emblems are possible because of Venomoth, Vileplume/Gloom, and Beedrill. I'm using 7 Black and 6 Green emblems. that way you get the cooldowns and the SP Attack % . Goes really well to all SP Attackers specially Gengar, Delphox and Venusaur.

teeds you should try glaceon ice shard icicle spear cause it can destroy objectives just use your unite (which comes back fairly quicly) then stay in the middle then wait for icicle spear to get the number below six then use ice shard to get 2 shards up the build is triple glasses but idk about the emblem yet

Teeds you need to diversify. You only need 7 black emblems. Replace the duplicates for some green. If you have green black you can get the maximum bonus for both colors.

I think the emblems were a good addition it gives some Pokemon an actual Fighting Chance, the only thing I don't like about them is I feel that the black emblems are simply too overpowered it just causes some Pokemon to spam moves way too fast, Delphox for example is absolutely terrible to fight against

Of course the cooldown is so fast; it resets when you get takedowns which is what your Gengar does best! It kinda felt like to me you were killing things harder though. Either way, this build is still pretty good, 1 second off a 4.5 CD move is huge; lets you clear jungle quicker and poke with Shadow Ball more frequently, in situations where you...miss with Dream Eater.

Personally I like the emblems. It gives you more diversity in builds.. they honestly just need to adjust certain Pokémon and their cooldown is already too short even without the emblems as well as there shouldn’t be any crit rate increase in emblems.

The emblem update change the meta so much that every teams had to have Gengar, Cram and Dragonite cause of the cooldown reduce build. I never encounter Charizard and rarely Zeraora lol.

I really dislike the emblems; they mess with the balance too much and they add a lot of unnecessary grind to an already somewhat grindy game while also enabling pay to accelerate bordering on pay to win.

The emblems do add some aspect of grinding, meaning you have to play a lot to get the energy to roll for the emblems, even though right now they are giving tons of extra energy and even multipliers for the energy tank, but before that I can't really remember any grind the game had prior.

@@tezminator The multiple thousands of gold required to max them out is the issue, you could just buy more pokemon instead of that but now you need to spend it on staying competitive. You cannot remember that this game had grind prior? One of the main complaints this game constantly receives is about how horrible gold gain is and how grindy the items are to level up to 30. The grind complaints is why they began giving those three level 30 item shortcuts.

Previous to the infamous Absol buff, Gengar was already penta killing like no tomorrow. Then came the nerfs and Absol best move (that didn't had anything to do with the things they buffed) was butchered, and lil' ol' Gengar was just grinning in the background. Blissey got away with a slap on the wrist. Anyway. Good for you that you can at least enjoy your main. I'll go and learn to like Pursuit until they fix Night Slash, because right now NS is Absolutely trash.
