This new Z-Arc support is really wild and I can't wait to tinker with it myself. Being able to set any quick-play has a lot of weight to it, since it also applies to Book of Moon so you can do the old flip a cheated out Z-Arc with Soul and get rid of the negation.

If you set a quick play spell on your opponent's turn, you can't use it until your next turn. Doesn't really seem that viable to me.

I'm not saying to mainly go for Book with this trap since you're going to be using the first effect over any other effect every other time. You play one Book and if it's relevant you can go into it, if not the card has four other things. If you draw Book it's a playable interrupt, so not actually awful for a garnet.

One card that I definitely think will see a bit of play in this deck is Magician of Hope. The weird Xyz Pendulum. It's super easy to make and the detach effect may come into play on occassion. But more importantly it enables the continuous spell's effect for only 2 level 4s. Not 2 level 4 pendulums, not two level 4 lights or darks, just 2 level 4s.

I think you are absolutely right, pendulum decks with this new cards will play "Magician of Hope", but being an easy to summon extra deck pendulum monster to trigger "Pendulum Evolution" will not be the main reason. The main reason to play him is that he is a generic target for "Soul of the Supreme Celestial King", so you can tribute him to cheat out one of the Z-ARCs without their effects negated, wow.

@@khal3300 It won’t, because of the Link 2’a designed to help older mechanics, Electrumite is by far the most balanced (ie. it’s not generic), but I want it unbanned for the same reason I want Maxx C unbanned - to watch people seethe and lose their collective shit on KZbin. I don’t take Yugioh too seriously anymore - I’m mostly here because MBT is entertaining - so my thought on what should and shouldn’t be hit are irrelevant. I just want to see changes happen to shake the game up, without releasing a new archetype that makes the meme of Yugioh being Competitive Solitaire seem less like a joke.

I'm actually pretty hype for the 4000/4000 support we've been getting lately. Previously the only real way to get that high was making horrible decisions to try to end on things like Barbaros, BEUD, etc but lately we've gotten Dogmatika Alba Zoa, The new Z-Arc, Dreadnought Liebe, Beetrooper, Machina Ruinforce, Dinomorbius Kentragina. Sure they might not all be great but atleast these cards have backbone to them- better than Mound of the Bound Creator + Obelisk like it was back in 2013.

Dark rebellion need material, Starving venom need to copy something to give field wide piercing and you don't lack damage to need Odd-eyes double damage effect.

Weird take incoming. While Im a returning Yugiboomer who got in because of COVID and lack the real experience, to me, Pends feel like the pile decks of yesteryear. Like GOAT which is just a collection of good stuff. Funny how most Yugiboomers just hate the mechanic. However, while the decks are cool and do cool things, the ""optimal"" end boards for SHS being non-archetypal to me takes the fun out of it. I really enjoy a pile of Gate Guardian and SHS as much as the next guy but when I create a combo I always have that dumb thought in the back of my mind; "Oh, I could make Baronne here". TLDR: Farfa is right, less generics and more archetypal bosses

Well pend have decent boss monsters on thier own but the bigger streght of the mechanic was the ability to play a flexible tool box in the extra deck thier we're desing to integrate all the extra decks mechanic in one deck. The Golden era pend decks could do fusion, lv 7,8,9,11 synchro plays and rank 3,4,6,7 plays without problems

So like… I don’t know much about the supreme king stuff or how they work but something about this just sounds so fuckin cool. Just using extra deck pends in pend zones shuffling back, fusing using extra deck materials (that could also just be pendulum stuff) just sounds like something that would happened in the anime but it’s real. I haven’t actually played a pendulum strategy and typically hate reading them but something about this goes so far out there that I’m interested in trying to learn it. Cards that get effects based on if you summon face down pendulums from the extra deck? Just set a quick play? Another one of those cards that is treated by another name(in deck building)? Just the power level of the cards and the fact that this would be absolutely impossible to explain to someone who doesn’t play Yugioh just now interests me. I may finally give a pendulum deck a real try.

and additionally: Miracle of the Supreme King destroys zarc with a card effect, so you can place him in the pend zone. once your arc-ray dragon is destroyed, he also goes into the pend zone, giving you the option to do a no material zarc summon with both. you put zarc into the extra deck with arc-ray's effect, summon arc-ray, and since zarc was shuffled into the extra deck, you can immediately summon him again ignoring the summoning conditions...

Question: Do the pendulum effects of pendulum monsters count as monster effects or spell effects in relation to cards immune to a specific type. Say for example you have two Cyber dragon infinities, one equipped with a-assault core (immune to monster effects) and the other with b-buster drake (immune to spell effects) while your opponent has Zarc’s floodgate effect active (xyz monsters cannot activate their effects). Which one, if either, would be able to activate its effect

Pendulum monsters in the Pendulum Scales are considered Spell Cards and their effects Spell Effects. Also they share the weakness of Continuous/Field Spells so if you remove them while their effects resolve, they won't resolve properly ("mst negate") In your specific example, Z-arc VS Infinity equipped with B-Buster, your Infinity can activate its effects because Z-arc applies on the monsters. If it was worded like Mystic Mine then it would work even on unaffected monsters but this isn't the case. You can even check Five Rainbow Magician for a similar case, there unaffected monsters CANNOT activate their effects because it restricts "the player" but they still can attack because that part restricts "the monsters" themselves.

If you fusion Z-ARC on your opponent's turn with the trap, and have the CT spell, doesn't that essentially let you accel pendulum summon on your opponent's turn, bc it's a non-main deck pendulum? I feel like that's insane to deploy another wave of pends from your hand in addition to the Z-ARC summon nuke and stuff, as a quick effect

I'm pretty sure you can't, bcs it's worded if you summoned this turn, so you have to activate it manually, and CS can only be manually activated on your turn

You can't because it's a conditional ignition, not a trigger effect. A benefit of this is, as long as you fulfilled the condition, you can choose to summon whenever.

On standby activate soul of the supreme king to summon out Z-arc, then wait for a dust to then activate miracle, set abyss script dramatic story, that gets popped which then places 5 abyss scripts onto the field

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't summoning Zarc with the trap meet the activation requirements for Evo's 2nd effect, letting you Pend summon on your opponent's turn. And wouldn't THAT pend summon trigger Lightwurms special summon? Which would in turn let you Sunchro/Xyz on your opponents turn. At least I'm guessing that's how it works , b.c. Lightwurms effect to Synchro/XYZ on summon makes NO SENSE if you're only meant to summon it on your own turn.

lightwurm scale effect allow it to summon itself when a monster is special summon and you control Z-Arc + 1 other pendulum (like darkwurm) so you make Z-arc, nuke field opponent try to recover and you summon lightwurm nuke field again.

You can't Pend Summon on your opponent's turn using Evo's 2nd effect. It is not a Trigger Effect, it is in fact a conditional Ignition Effect.
