Thanks for sharing the Google tutorial Ali. I had to re-watch this again because you provided so much value as always. I spent the entire day dissecting all this information. There is simply no way of getting around learning how to do outside traffic advertising. And Amazon is becoming to be more expensive each day. Google may help reduce PPC costs by sending traffic to Amazon. I noticed Google keeps changing its interface, and there is so much to learn. However, I am fine with it because all things change in due time in this roller coaster life we live. Take care!

Hey Michael! With Google Shopping ads you can run to your website as you need a product feed and Google Merchant account which you can't (currently) use with Amazon. If sellers are ever able to run their own Google Shopping campaigns direct to Amazon I will be testing and making a video on that IMMEDIATELY.

Do you think it might be better to run them to a branded amazon store page? Or will it be harder for amazon to track the purchases? Awesome to hear Alexander! Many sellers don't have a storefront (or not as well optimized) which is why I didn't really mention it. It depends on the store page and keywords. Always make sure the keyword search directly matches the landing page. If someone is searching for "maca root supplement" you'll want to make sure your landing page focuses 100% on maca root supplements and nothing else. If you believe your store page will convert better than the product page OR you're worried about hurting your conversion rate I would test using a storefront. For our brands, our Google ad spend is so low compared to Amazon PPC we just set low bids, highly targeted keywords and send to our product listings without much testing as: A. it is difficult to truly test and B. it's a low overall % of advertising (5% - 10%).

Hey Michelle! Google may be forcing you to create a campaign first. If so, just go through and then pause/ delete the campaign (doesn't matter what you do). THEN try to find "advanced view" option in the top-right area of your screen. After these two steps you should see a similar screen as the one in this video.

Hi Sumner, the interface in Google Ads now is different from when you recorded this tutorial. I was asked to put in the conversion goal which requires a google tab. However, as you mentioned in the video, there is a limitation to tracking the performance in Google Ads, meaning that I am not allowed to use Amazon's attribution tag as the tracking media. How can I bypass this setting?

Far as Im aware (or at least this is how it used to work) is that this is managed by Amazon themselves so the more/better you sell the more likely you are to appear in their shopping feed.

I currently have 20+ products and have one Exact match, Broad Match and phrase match campaign running for each product with all 3 campaigns having the same 20 keywords and also all the 20 keywords that I have in my exact match campaign are put as “negative exact” in my broad and phrase match campaigns. So I would like to ask you if this strategy of having all manual campaigns with same 20 keywords and broad and phrase match having the keywords of exact match campaign in the “negative exact” field is a good strategy?

Yes, this is a solid strategy. The only thing I would add is: 1. Make sure you're targeting dozens - hundreds of long-tail keyword variations. Target as many relevant keywords as possible. 2. Consider breaking out keywords with high search volume of several thousand monthly searches into single keyword campaigns and then the next 50 keywords on your list (by search volume) into sets of 5 keywords per campaign.

I recommend creating a separate Google ads campaign with your brand terms in phrase match. This way you can direct branded searches to whichever marketplace you prefer (website, Amazon, Etsy, etc)

Did you make sure the attribution link led to your Amazon product page? That will be your landing page. Could be a glitch with Google's bot misregistering something which has happened in the past. Maybe incorrect business info. Also, some sellers have an issue with using the word "Amazon" in their ad copy though you should be able to get this resolved if you direct directly to an amazon.com page
