New Gouache Paint from South Korea? Trying Sui Gouache + Paint With Me!

Hey everyone! So I found this little set of gouache from South Korea on Amazon and decided to make a little video on it just because I couldn't find any information in English about the paint! I included links to the paint and the artist who created it up in the description, as well as the pigment information that was listed on the back of the tubes. I hope you like the video!!

Thank you Maile for posting this…..I also stumbled on this set on Amazon.hoping to see more from this artist and illustrator. I found a set on EBay for the book as well……stuff is a little pricy….but i love the colors and the performance of the paints! Thank you!

Ohhh I didn't know there was a book, I'll have to hunt haha.The Illustrator (Sui) has an Instagram account! It's sui_atelier. I've actually spoken with her a little since I posted this video, and she's so so nice! Her account is all in Korean, but it's still pretty to look at hehe. She's really happy that so many people in the US like her paint!! Thank you again so much for watching

I just purchased the same set because it had the color palette I wanted to work in, and the packaging was pleasing too, so I'm excited that someone else has tested it out with such good results! Makes me super excited to start using them! ( they are arriving today btw)

That's awesome! I think you'll really enjoy using it! It's a really lovely set to paint with! Honestly its the first set I've had where I want to be careful with how much I use hehe. If you ever post any pics of what you do with it, I'd love to see! And lmk your thoughts when you get it!

Found you through the review, too😁😅😂I had to look you up on YT because the Amazon link wouldn’t work, but I’m so glad I did! Thank you for doing this test run and honest review about the gouache set. I found it on Amazon as well, and am so indecisive about what gouache I wanna try. I was going to go with Holbein but man, it’s costly when you buy individual tubes. This Sui color palette totally drew me in. I love these delicious colors and I’m glad to know they work so well. And I love your work!

I'm personally not a big fan of the Holbein Gouache (the regular, not the Acryla), however that isn't really due to the paints it's more do to my style and what I paint (more graphic, illustrative stuff). I got this gouache as well… love it! She has a little bigger tubes out as well…. You can get it on Amazon. Also has a book….you can get it on E Bay

Which one do You preffer between this Sui gouache and the holbein acryla gouche?? Please?? 💖

For me it honestly depends because they are really different. Holbein acrylic gouache is not a true gouache paint. It's really just an acrylic paint with a mattifier. A lot of designers and illustrators use it because there are so many colors so it's easy to quickly create what you need. I honestly use both for different things. If I know I want to do a TON of layers, and don't feel like mixing paint, I'll use the Holbein. When I want to do something more simple, I'll use this one or Winsor & Newton. Both def have their benefits, I think that true gouache has a more velvety look to it, but the difference is minimal. I know that may not be much help LOL! Do you know what you would be using it for?

Hi. Just so you know, in case you're not already aware, Amazon is now selling 15ml tubes in sets of 2 coordinating colors. They're offering only 4 choices but still.. at least they're 15ml tubes :)

It's basically just a giant rectangular dish.
