STILL 4 of the VERY best bluegrassers that ever picked up instruments! From Pat Flynn to Bela Fleck, their timing & note useage is second to none. With Sam's mandolin & Cowan's voice these guyz have yet to be dethroned IMHO.

Saw these guy at Breedings in Lexington, KY in '83. Fantastic show in a small venue. They are all top notch musicians and vocalists....of course John Cowan is unequaled in his vocal ability.

I’ve heard similar gossip, but I really couldn’t see any rift between these guys. I think these assumptions stem from the fact that they are ALL so talented and individualistic. Each member had future plans that unfortunately their breakup was almost inevitable.
