Interesting to see the larger diameter coil in the hex ? The approx price quoted for a premium manufacturer basic model looks interesting. Tried looking up myself but no stated prices yet. Didn't realise the 2000 was approx £850 inc VAT. I am paying £1400 for Vaillant ecotec plus 825 ! I need to go back to the drawing board and start looking at boilers again and consider switching my allegiance from Vaillant, which actually are no longer that premium compared to the competition anymore ? I think the ecotec plus was the benchmark, unfortunately customers didn't always want to pay that, especially when you can get a glowworm made in the same factory for a fraction of the price with the same 10 year guarantee. With the design change to the ecotecs I switched to baxis and mains. But after seeing this, I'm with you, might be time to rethink.

I'm not really directly involved in the domestic heating market as I moved into construction management some years ago. Looks good to me ! Re the prices, Vaillant have become a joke with their prices although I have to say that I was always pro WB anyway. Id be interested to know how much these go for, prices etc

Looks decent, for a Worcester! Proper heat exchanger, not aluminium dissolving unit. Rubber gas pipe will perish. Where's the prv hidden?

Yes it can be range rated if you go into the diagnostics hold down tap and radiator for about three seconds on the right hand side of display, push the arrow down onto L3 then choose 3B -1 it will say 100% you can go down rate it so for example down to 50% would be round about 12 kW

Faith has nothing to do with it, if it came with a 10 year guarantee why would you ever even consider fitting an 8000? Same reason a baxi 800 has a 10 year guarantee and an assure has a 2 year guarantee.

Don't be fooled by this boiler. Just had it installed 2 days ago and I personally would not recommend it to anybody looking for a reliable product. I didn't choose it because of the price but rather the installers recommended it over the other greenstar models that I initially was leaning towards, like Greenstar 4000. Regardless, 10min after the installation the boiler is dripping water on the front-right corner and is thus loosing pressure. It isn't leaking at the pipe level but rather inside the boiler itself, which makes me think that QA wasn't done right.. Not only that but unlike any other boiler I've had before (And I had 3, including new and old products lilke Greenstar 4000, Vokera 25, Powermax 140), this one is buzzing like a bee. It creates vibrations that travel through the walls and can be now heard in the whole flat, which is extremely annoying. I am now seriously looking into replace this piece of crap and install something more reliable.

It’s a Baxi with a plastic hydraulic block and did anyone see the PRV? I’d stick with a Main eco compact for the same money and warranty. Oh sorry ‘guarantee’ for you Worcester snobs! 😂
