We're excited to introduce a new node that will enhance your workflow in ComfyUI, making your projects more fluid and organized. This new feature is designed to help you combine multiple inputs seamlessly without cluttering your workspace.
This is the Merge Inputs node. It was born of a bug we found when using ComfyUI's Group Nodes functionality. Group Nodes is a standard ComfyUI feature that lets you take a whole bunch of nodes and then group them together so you can simplify the look of your node graph. It lets you customize the inputs and outputs to present your users with only the inputs you want.
Unfortunately, there are some input types that aren't fully customizable with the group node - specifically, any inputs that are designated as STRINGs. You can control the name, but you can't hide ones you don't want to see. Our Merge Text node uses those inputs, so if a user has one in a Group Node, they are unable to hide non-used inputs.
Our new Merge Inputs node treats those inputs differently. It works very similar to the previous Display Data node - where you can pass any input to it and it'll convert it to a string. AND it works with the group nodes - giving users the ability to really simplify their node graph.
