7-10 is easy..realistically 2 maybe 3 mimosas at breakfast then 4-5 by the pool thru the day the day 1 or two at dinner and then x amount at the clubs in evening..Its a no brainer especially if a beer drinker

Right. And I think people are forgetting that it's not just alcohol in the deluxe package. I see people saying you gotta be drunk everyday to make it work. I mean maybe if that's all you are drinking 😄. I myself would get the Refreshment package though because I'm not a big alcohol drinker. Just wine here and there. And still that package offers a good bit as well. Most focus only on the price and I understand, but at least it's optional.

Agreed! 7-10 is easy. I'll drink 2 mimosas in the morning, then sip on another 2-3 various cocktails as I'm walking around or by the pool throughout the day. Finally end with 3 cocktails at dinner? And that's me not trying. If I have a drink package I'm going to enjoy myself 😅

Going on my 1st cruise for Christmas...I was taken aback by the drink package...I will be drinking mimosas all morning...afternoon drinks..dinner drinks...and club drinks...yes I may be rather bubbly or even drunk the entire cruise...but oh well

So the deluxe drink package includes more than alcoholic drinks. The break even point is determined subtracting the refreshment package price from the deluxe package, then divide the result by $10-14 (beer-cocktail). The result is how many alcoholic beverages you need to consume a day to break even. This is assuming you drink bottled water, soda, etc. too.

My wife can’t drink alcohol due to Doctor’s orders (rarely drinks soda, too….she typically, just drinks water, black coffee, fruit juice, tea), so it’s BS that I’d have to pay for both of us on our upcoming cruise in June. Also, the price of a case of water is ridiculous…..I can buy a case of 35 bottles of water for around $5 at my local grocery store. I would understand charging $15-18, but $41-69 for 24 bottles, is robbery. And they only allow passengers to bring up to 12 bottles per cabin.

You can call the cruise and inform them about the same and they will make an exception in case of medical concerns, I have heard that they will allow you to do so. And you can bring your own reusable bottle and it is totally free to refill the same in a cruise.

That is one of the beauties of living in a capitalist society. You don't like the product, don't buy it. If having only one person buy a drink package is that important to you, don't choose the cruise. That is a win-win. You get to save your money, and no one else on the ship has to put up with your complaining.

Just got back from Allure. First cruise, and got the deink package. I drank the moneys worth for the both of us and my wife hit her average as well. I was only drunk one night. The drinks seemed to be a little weak to me. Perhaps i am just a high functioning alchoholic. However, the staff was great, and were fun to drink with.

Yes, you can purchase drinks onboard and they are charged to your room. We highly suggest you look at the bottled water packages and the cafe select coffee card. We buy those on every RCI cruise instead of the package. Which ship are you sailing on in 9 months? Happy cruising!

If you cancel the package pre cruise, the refund is usually a couple of weeks. If you lose the coffee card, then you might be out of luck.

I think our refund was about a week. Not sure how it works if original credit card was lost and canceled. I would talk to card issuing bank or entity to see if it is somehow linked to reissued card.

If two parents and two children that are tied to connecting rooms (where each adult is tied to one room and each minor is tied to a room), do both parents need to get a drink package? I"m assuming the minors would each get a soda package and one adult could get a soda package and the other adult could get their own full drink package.?

Only 1 package would be needed. Wife and I alway used to be in one cabin each and then switch once onboard, good way to get a double balcony discount.

If one person in the cabin gets a soda package, everyone has to get one. Now I do believe it would work like that since only one adult is in each cabin. I would check first.

No you only need to both buy a drink package if one of you gets the deluxe (full) drink package. Even then, if you call and explain they usually allow one of you to have the deluxe package so long as the other has a refreshment package.

The drink package is not worth it for anybody. The drink package is in the cruise lines favor. Otherwise they wouldn’t offer it. Plus if you do end up purchasing the package and drinking a ton of alcohol to try and break even you’ll most likely be drunk/hung over your entire cruise and that’s no way I would spend my vacation. Just budget a few hundred dollars ahead of time for specialty drinks. 🌟

Everything you said is 100% true. If you try and beat the system you end up hungover and not wanting to leave your room. It’s isn’t worth it, I’ve tried it. Much better to just buy your drinks as you need them, it’s WAY less expensive than a drink package and you’ll feel better 😂 during your cruise.

Talk for yourself. It's well worth it for me depending on price of package. I'm a beer drinker and if I have 7 or more beers in a day, it's worth it. I can do that by noon on a sea day. Plus I don't want to worry about having to pay for my drinks at end of cruise.

I cannot see how any packages are worth it other than (1) coffee card, (2) soda package at a discount (maybe $7.99/day) if you’re a soda drinker, or (3) water package at a discount (i got it for $23 for 13 bottles 1/2 liter). The refreshment package is ridiculously expensive and the drinks are so sugary - too many sugar drinks to be worth it. And the drink package - you’d be drunk the whole cruise!

The soda package is actually worth it (even at $13 per day) since you can get diet sodas and flavored waters as well. My husband and I sat and looked at the money and when you look at prices on the ship, it definitely adds up to being worth it, especially if you, like me, don't drink tea or coffee. In my opinion, the water package is a waste because you can get water for free. If you take your own refillable bottle its great and it's less trash. I do think that if you're going to get the alcohol package that you need to have a decent tolerance for it because you need to drink at least 5 or 6 drinks a day to get your money's worth. I rarely drink alcohol so it's not for me. However, for my next sailing I will be getting the refreshments package so I can have my sodas and mocktails and even a smoothie in Vitality.

It depends on if you can get a really good sale. We can have 2 alcoholic drinks a day, fresh oj at breakfast, 2 lattes and 2 bottles of water, and still break even. We can do that even on a port day.

The refreshment package is a complete rip-off because they tell you get fresh squeezed orange juice from the orange juice bar and they make you think that it's sitting there all day you can go get one anytime but what they don't tell you is it's only at breakfast and the lemons are so sour it tastes like lemonade so it was completely worthless. It was the same thing for the specialty coffees you can only get them at breakfast and there was only one lousy machine that you had to stand in line for while your breakfast was getting cold. The bottled water that you were supposed to get for some reason the waiters don't want to deliver the bottled water and I had to ask one later probably 8 times and that was a regular occurrence every time I tried to get water. Don't get any refreshment package it's not worth it complete rip off. In fact I recommend not going on the Royal Caribbean because especially the Freedom of the Seas is falling apart the pool was filthy the decks were crumbling the tiles were chipped away the elevators did not work and they were understaffed. This was just a week ago that I got off the ship. After reading this if you go on it you deserve what you get because it's a piece of crap. Oh and the quality of their cocktails are terrible it's all high fructose corn syrup garbage the cheapest stuff that they could find is what you're getting

I drank 90 drinks in four days on my cruise. The drinks were priced around 14 each without the drink package. Which is around $1300 for 90 drinks if you do the math. I payed $600 for the drink package for 2 people which is $300 a piece. Soooo $300 for $1300 worth of alcohol is definitely worth it if you drink a lot lol
