I’m thinking the bullets were in the checked luggage under the plane. The USA allows you to put bullets in your luggage, as long as I don’t go with you as a carry-on. So the TSA doesn’t care about those bullets. But the other country did. So all the people who are criticizing the TSA, get a towel and wipe the egg off your face. I’m not saying they don’t make mistakes too, but not everything is instantly the way you thought the story was. But unfortunately, especially today, when people have an opinion and they assume that opinion is correct going forward and reevaluating what they think in each case is not necessary.

This kind of law is ridiculous and draconian. There’s no proportionality. Having *4 bullets* in your possession gets you as many years as armed robbery in the US? Are they insane? Americans should collectively blacklist Turks and Caicos as a travel destination because if this is their justice system, then they are a pariah. For those saying “Travelers should know a country’s laws”, etc, let me just say this: There’s no American - not even a single lawyer - who knows every law in America. It’s absurd to expect someone to know all the laws in a foreign country. Secondly, if a country’s justice system is this inflexible and regressive, who’s to say that some jagoff at their airport wouldn’t plant a bullet in your luggage to get you busted? Nobody should feel comfortable traveling to a country that will put you in jail for having a tiny piece of metal in your bag.
@jimmyyarbrough9883

Then, just follow the law, and nothing will happen to you. Ireland arrests people for having pepper spray because it's considered a weapon there. So don't take it. Singapore has extremely strict laws and almost no crime. Americans travel there all the time with no issues. Obey other country's laws. Simple.
