Your irritation after that fire is similar to mine. I live on the third floor of a 5 story building, and our alarm went off at 3am. So the hubby grabbed our important papers, we both grabbed our phones, and we were out the door within minutes. As we stepped out, my next door neighbor poked his head out, looked at me in confusion, I said "uh, fire alarm...?" He just scowled, grunted "I have a TWO year old", and slammed the door shut, as if it was some sort of childish game we were playing, and I had any control over it. I laughed at his idiocy and went downstairs, joining the rest of the more responsible inhabitants of our building. Turned out to be nothing, and after the fire department left, we all filed back in. But what made me mad that evening was not being awakened at such an ungodly hour, but rather, his attitude, and the attitude of MOST of the people in our building. If it HAD been a real fire, if there had been danger, those idiots would've caused countless firefighters to put themselves into harm's way, all because they didn't "feel like" getting their asses out of bed. And that neighbor specifically, for putting his child in possible danger. It's like, I get it, you don't want to get out of bed at 3am, but it's not like ANY of us WANTED to do it. You do some things, not because you want to, but because it's necessary and responsible. That is what it means to NOT to be an entitled douchebag.

Mm not justifying their lack of action at all, and you're 100% right but I wonder if it's because so many people are now just too desensitised because of false alarms.. I live in NZ and back in my high school our fire alarm used to go off randomly so often (sometimes some idiot would set it off intentionally) that eventually even some of my teachers didn't really pay much attention and only begrudgingly- and slowly- evacuated the class.. It's still not a valid reason not to evacuate I know, but I wonder if it may not be just as simple as that they didn't "feel like" it but that they're too used to the alarm being false

Back home, we have a few huge male ginkgo trees in our back yard. We have never pruned them, because they don’t produce the stinky fruit that females do, which is the only reason why I would assume they would do that. Ours are close to if not over 100 years old so they are much larger than those as well. They could prune them, to keep the uniform or so they don’t potentially obstruct any of the surrounding buildings. Ginkgo trees are very resilient trees, so it’s unlikely that they caught a blight. More than anything they are more prone to root issues, and need well draining. So hopefully next year they will be leave filled and beautiful again!
@caricakes3 жыл бұрын
thats what im hoping!! i think because they're so close together they might have pruned them to keep them from growing too wide? either way, as long as they're healthy :''')

Hey Cari! I’m from Mexico City and I was catching up with your video and let me tell you that I totally understand your feelings towards the fire alarm situation. In my city we are prone to earthquakes so we have to do several simulations to know how to act in a real situation and most of the people doesn’t take this seriously and I get really angry because people have died because of not acting correctly during the event. 😕 Just letting you know that you’re not the only one in this! 🤝

Helloooo, finding your blog very cute, delicate and relaxing,!!! As an Italian girl, that her fav pastry is "cannoncini", I want to explain you the difference between them and the "cannoli". Cannoncino is made of puff pastry, twisted in a cornucopia shape and filled with vanilla pastry cream, (or chocolate cream); "cannolo", (Typical from the south Italy- Sicily), are made of a special thin fried waffle, filled with ricotta cream cheese , with dried candy fruit (orange, cedar...), and chocolate chips. They are both fantastic....which are your fav?

My reflexes was thankfully fast enough to just duck as fast as I could without her even telling me what it was. I think it helped that we saw a humongous one 30 min earlier BESIDE the path. Oh, and I really like that you wrote the dates for the vlog, it kinda helps me immerse in the feeling of being there.
