Jack Douglas had one of TV’s great voices, authoritative yet unpretentious. Thank goodness for KZbin for preserving this perfectly presented gem.

The calming voice of Jack Douglas takes me back to watching filmstrips in elementary school back in the 60’s. ❤️

The quality of life here in our state is still great and sometimes a little shocking to outsiders. I explained to a friend of mine yesterday from the DC area that my commute doesn't involve one Interstate or expressway, just two lane state highways that go past forests and mountains and fishing streams and natural springs and farms and farm stands and parks and wonderful little towns where if you go into a store twice they know you. Just master the winters and be prepared for the property tax bill, and you can enjoy a beautiful environment with no sales or income tax and as much liquor and fireworks as you want.

Personally I love New England winters. And yes, I do drive, and I do have to shovel snow sometimes, and I have to carry food and water to the horses outside in freezing cold and snow, etc. Still love New England winters, I’ve lived in NH my whole life and o find it beautiful all year round honestly

I live in what would be considered more “urban” NH (Dover) but besides the Spaulding turnpike there aren’t huge interchanges and highways everywhere.

If only we could snap our fingers and go back to a time like this. Is it just me, or did life genuinely seem better back then? As a lifelong NH resident, this was fun to watch.

Nicely done. I was born in Portsmouth and raised in Concord and currently live in Loudon, ironically a half mile from Shaker Village as mentioned. Live, Freeze and Die!

I laughed way to hard at that as I moved from DC to an island off the coast of North Carolina to Greenland New Hampshire where I've been for ten years. I'm an expert in freezing freely trying not to die. May I rust in pieces.

Thanks for the great video. I had the pleasure to live in Manchester and work in Nashua back in the 80s. It was a wonderful experience. God bless you and yours and thanks for all you do!

Great listening to the Scottish lady talking about the lobsters. God Bless America, I’m coming to live there soon & very much looking forward to the experience, but I’ll be down in the South.

She's not Scottish -that's a variant of the down east accent. My grandmother, from Cutler, ME sounded like that , but more cockney.

There was that Urban Legend called "The Quarter Curse" They minted USA Quarters with a different Landmark on the Reverse. Fifty in all to represent every State. When "The Old Man" was put into Circulation, the legend said that's when it collapsed

It is different, and worth the time. Just remember to save your pennies, nickels and dimes because it is pricey! You should also drive the Auto Road to the summit, it’s one of my favorite things to do when I go home.😸👍🫶

They can be found in: Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Vermont & Virginia… and yes, Massachusetts!
