Great job on the video. I just did the install about a month ago on a 2015 Roadglide Special. But my bike is in the HD shop now getting the stereo replaced under warranty. Because the gps was not connecting to any satellites. I also originally had do the HD flash for the whim and the CarPlay was not working either. Hopefully it will be all finished today. But, I also bought a Techno Research Alaris HD Audio module as a tool to enable all of these features on the stereo. However, I wanted to know what is the purpose of the Soundz module devise and what exactly does it do for the stereo?

Thanks Michael sorry to hear that your having some problems with your bike. The reason why I purchased the sounds module was so I could retrofit The new GTS radio in my 2017 road guide. After I did the install the new system worked perfectly all I had to do was bring my bike to HD and flash it to enable Apple play and after that everything worked fine since the day I installed it.

@@stevea1118 I was hoping that it would all be finished today, but I didn’t get the call from HD. I also went with the Hertz 600 watts amp with the Hertz 165 Neo 6.5 speakers for the fairing and the Diamond Audio 6.5 MP 645 with the horn tweeter/speakers for my lowers. The sound is tremendously clear.

Great video! I have a 2017 Roadglide Ultra. I have the WHIM installed and use the wireless headset. Do you know if you can still have that function with this unit? Also, do you still have EITM, air temp, and oil pressure screen. Thanks!

Hey motorcycle warrior everything should work as it does already it’s a plug-n- play system so everything should stay the same if you want a second opinion I would ask whoever installed your new set up just to be 100% sure. And the only reason why I change the speakers was because it was included in the sale and I like the glossy grill covers instead of the plain plastic ones that came stock.

The only thing I installed is the sounds retrofit interface plug n play wiring harness. Then I took it to my local Harley Davidson dealer and had the whim enable so I can use Apple CarPlay they just plug it into the computer and click enable.

Thanks...GTS radio new from Harley is $1600 ( Utah Harley) but u can find them online as new take offs as low as $900. So you should be able to do the retro fit with harness from soundz for less than $1500 if you install it yourself. For me it was a no brainer just because I knew having Waze on apple play would save me &1500 in tickets and it would eventually pay for itself lol.

Thanks for the video, I didn’t realize how easy it is to swap the radio out! I have a Laguna myself! Does Harley-Davidson offer an interface rather than the Soundz? If so, does the Soundz offer any advantages over the H-D. Just want to consider all of my options. Thanks again!

Dan Klein Your welcome as far as I know sounds is the only on that makes the interface to retrofit the new GTS radio. It’s pricey but can you imagine how much HD would charge if they made one lol.

OUCH!!! $2000 for the HD GTS head unit and another $500 for the Soundz SC-GTSi... and still no Android Auto!! For $500 to $700 you can put a Sony head unit in which will give you both Apple Car Play and Android Auto... plus I heard the Sony sounds way better than the GTS, especially the XAV-AX7000 without an external amp. Regardless it's awesome the GTS swap is possible for those who want it.

Lee Hill Np.. and yes all hand control work perfect only thing is info button (on right side)turns into ⬅️ back button .. if you buy new gts from dealer it comes with radio if you buy it anywhere else you would have to buy it from Harley for I think 10 bucks quick change out just snaps out of controls and as far as the gts sound goes I would say its a little louder and clearer definitely an upgrade from the older radio.

The soundz module is to retrofit the new HD gts radio onto older bikes. With out it you can not do it.

@@orondedd after you install the interface to get your CarPlay working you have to take it to the dealership to get it flashed all they do is check a couple boxes. One of them is to enable the whim on the bikes computer. Once they check off that box, the bike will let you access the CarPlay.

Yes you have to enable the WHIM even if you do not have it and that allows Apple play to pop up on screen

My GT had a crack so they are fixing it on the extended Service Plan. But thinking I would like to upgrade to the GTS and at the same time add Xm satellite radio at the same time. Will this accept the Xm satellite radio to the new upgrade GTS?

Absolutely not you can’t see the screen at all it’s awful and it’s not plug and play
