Seems like that is alittle fast for that drill

I’m running around 5.5mph. And I’m not actually drilling. I have the tubes off and using it as a drop seeder or like a brillian seeder. Which is another reason why I roll after i plant.

it looks like you planted orchard grass alone in a stand . how deep do you think the seed was planted ? we have a john deere fb-b grain drill , it looks like yours . is using the grain drill better than broadcasting it and then lightly dragging it ? I think maybe we will have to try the grain drill for grass seeding once .

Yes planted straight orchard grass. What went in the coulters was probably 1/4”-1/2”. But we actually have the tubes removed and just dropping the seed on the ground then following that with the cultipacker rolling only. I like the drill better than broadcasting because you have more control of seeding rate and uniform coverage. It has worked well. Have a good stand I’m that field. First cutting video from that should be posted in the next couple weeks. It’s dry now so regrowth is pretty slow but that’s not the drills fault haha

How long can a seeded Field produce?........ With our most prevelant Variety of Hybrid Bermuda Once planted and with proper management.... it last Forever.....
@thebalerman Жыл бұрын
4-5 years is typical. Depends on how intense it is cut and the lay of the field. If it’s wetter it won’t last as long. Also the seed that you plant and fertility of the soil. Some will last longer and others won’t last as long.
