Asmodeus is the god of Indulgence while Bane is the actual God of Tyranny. Every Devil has "some degree of Tyrannical behaviour", including asmodeus. But they cannot be compared with Bane. Asmodeus is also a more recent deity compared to Bane as the former was previously an archdevil until the spellplague when he ascended, while the latter has mortal origins but has been a god for a longer time(and in 3.5, where they are both statted we see that Bane has higher intelligence compared to pre ascension Asmodeus so while asmodeus has been planning and scheming for longer bane had more mental capacity for a very long time). I don't know which of the two has more power at their peak. Asmodeus' power relies very little on the power of followers and is a greater deity because he rules the nine hells and had an extremely powerful pre ascension base. On the other hand, peak Bane had an entire pantheon serving under him until very recently. I highly doubt that given his past he just relinquished his power completely for this silly plot so he most likely has a backup plan to claim his greater god status again. We shall see in the future. Update: I went back to check and they both have the same INT stat at 30 so Asmodeus' plots definitely run deeper as he stood around for longer. I don't know why I thought Bane had 34.

NGL, I was surprised how cool Bane was. Myrkul is creepy, Bhall is crazy, but Bane is just cool. I often wonder why people would ever decide to follow the evil gods, but after this scene I was thinking to myself: Bane is pretty cool, If I was playing an evil aligned character, I'd definitely be a Banite. I was inspired and came up with this backstory for my Lawful Evil Aligned character: I was born as a poor commoner living under a brutal king, I joined a popular rebellion and sacrificed much to help overthrow the evil king and put a new popular government into power. But as the years went by I realized that the new popular government is even more incompetent, evil, and corrupt than the tyrannical King. My Character decides that the problem is not the rulers but the people themselves. People are evil and corrupt by their nature and can only prosper if they are controlled under a strong ruler. Sure the ruler has to be cruel and brutal at times to keep order but it's necessary to keep order because humans are chaotic by nature. In fact, the more brutal and ruthless a ruler is the less likely the peasants would dare act up, thus keeping an orderly society. So my character is a mercenary for hire fully aligned with Bane: to wander the world and bring order wherever I go. My Character believes that the people themselves are evil and rulers must be EVEN MORE EVIL to keep them under wraps. And my character is willing to help any powerful lord "keep order" for a small "fee" of course. If the work of suppressing peasants is brutal, my character justifies it as: this is just how you got to be in a world filled with irrational and impulsive people, in fact cracking down on such people is rather enjoyable.

Its really interesting during this entire storyline; We're literally at the mercy of the dead three, which are all Quasi-Deity level beings. Literally the lowest rank a deity could be. They'd have better spent that time amassing followers and attaining true godhood then the shit they pulled in the Sword Coast. Like what? Keep calling yourself a God mate, we all know the truth. (BG3 is based on 5E of DnD which is where the power level of the dead three is stated. They are no where near God-level like they want you to believe)
@Saretz5 ай бұрын
Hmmmm
@vanjagluscevic2310Ай бұрын
While BG3 and Descent into Avernus show the Dead Three with more localized influence during their storylines, the idea that they are “quasi-deities” across the board isn’t correct. This depiction is tied to the specific context of those campaigns, where they operate on the Material Plane, which limits their direct divine power. But in the official 5th Edition D&D lore (specifically in the Player’s Handbook and the Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide), Bane is still classified as a greater deity . Now, you mention that BG3 is based on 5e, but pls remember that each campaign (like Descent into Avernus and BG3) makes narrative decisions for dramatic effect. The Dead Three being portrayed as weaker in these stories serves the plot-after all, facing full-on greater deities wouldn’t exactly make for a balanced challenge for adventurers, right? But outside of these settings, Bane still holds his divine portfolio of tyranny and war, and he’s far from a mere quasi-deity. So yeah, in BG3, they might come across as “low-tier” gods, but don’t let that fool you into thinking they’ve actually lost their power. In the grand scheme of Forgotten Realms, Bane still continues to wield serious influence, and his greater deity status is very much intact.
@vee12679 ай бұрын
“Take control of the netherstones and unleash your infected army, and I will count you among my chosen” hmm… does this mean they’re gonna add a version of the Become Absolute ending where, instead of saying “in my name” or “in Bhaal’s name”, the protagonist says “in Bane’s name”? Because this sounds like a hint at a Bane-centric version of the “embrace Bhaal” route, like if you’re an evil Durge but still want to defy Bhaal for whatever reason.

Now when I think about it, I learned something new EVERY playthrough, and I stopped counting after 7 times I finished the game (2 of those honour runs)! I think it's my 8th playthrough, or 9th, I know one honour run was very short, when I attacked commander Zhalik kamikaze mode, in anger, because drop weapon didn't work :)

@@Saretz Regarding the garden, yeah, it's pretty cool you can just walk into it, and pull whatever you want from the ground, fresh and without pesticide! Although, you can then count on some losses, I manually remove pests sometimes, it's better than nothing! I'm hooked on watching gardeners on youtube, I learned a lot from them, Mark from self sufficient me is my go to, the man left his job at the military, and he began gardening full time, and he said he and wife live even better than before, with two paychecks! But he has ENORMOUS garden! Mine is also not that small, just for me, and occasionally plus one, that's why I can afford to give food to neighbors even, family, and friends! Neighbors always pay me back in their own way, one transports wood for me, the other gives me the food I DON'T have, like meaty products, I make it work! I love this environment I live in much more then in the city, I lived on 3rd floor then, without balcony even! But not just that, people are different, we're all like family here, much less people, and those who do live here, take care of each other.. We live in symbiosis :) In the city, the people were much more secluded it turns out, everybody's in the rush, in the bad mood,and just minding their own business! You know how it is up there, when I can sleep with the door WIDE open in the summer, sometimes I even fell asleep under the cherry, I had that swinging net, but falling down was the issue :) Anyway, I just now realized how much I typed :)

This is a little strange, since speak with dead doesn't actually bring the soul back or anything along those lines. It just animates the body like a puppet. The magic only lets the corpse regurgitate what it knew in life. Speak with dead just doesn't work by speaking with the soul of the dead, it's just talking to the body - the soul doesn't come back unless you use any resurrection spell. The soul is already gone by the time you use the spell.

There's nothing to make you question the morality of your actions quite like the literal god of tyranny telling you you're doing what he wants.
