What people don't understand is it doesn't matter how big the packaging is, they can still only legally put a certain amount of powder in it, for it to be legally sold. Therefore bigger isn't always better and it goes for the same on mortars. What you want to look at is the powder amount. But they are all fun and exciting. Good video...

I used to build model rockets in the 70's when I was a young teen, and I had a connection for quarter sticks of dynamite. These had wicks on the and, not the center. I installed the firecracker in the rocket, with the wick right up in and against a D-size rocket engine. When the rocket got to it's max flight height, it would blow out the other end to deploy a parachute. That's what would ignite the quarter stick. Super loud . Back then, quarter sticks were powerful. They had no writing on them, totally bootlegged. I got them for 2 for a buck or so. They could blow stop signs right off the pole. lol

I don’t trust some of those larger canister type consumer rockets. Oftentimes it’s a smaller shell loaded in a big package. Plastic wrapped rockets tend to be this way a lot from my experience but they all are kinda susceptible. My test it to give the sides of the header a semi-tight squeeze w/your fingertips and if it starts to give way a bit then you know it’s a smaller shell nested inside with some air in between the packaging and it.
