Hundreds of hours went into the development of the Aeolos P30: We went through the entire regatta process and optimised every step. Including maintenance, transport and launching, long-lasting sails, etc. Because of this, the AP30 is not only a very fast sailboat to win with, but it saves a lot of money, especially when you add up all the costs of a season. This can be better invested in sails and training - this increases the chances of winning regattas enormously.

Looks very similar to the Dutch Speedlounger 850, and the Dehler 30 OD. Nice boats 😊 It's the reasonable that will be interesting. Another interesting discussion is the use one will REALLY have from his boat. A lot of bluewater and expensive boats out there....in the harbor of the lake or sea arm. If this is meant for lakes and sea arms, it might come at reasonable prive indeed, why not?

bio based carbon fiber can be used for the structural beams, frame or bulkheads rather than for hull skins. you are using a carbon fiber from petrol PAN with toxic process and energy intensive that in case of collision will crack and sink the boat. you can accomplish the same structural weight-performance of a thin core made of carbon - nomex core sandwich by using light thick cores (7-15cm) made of thermoplastic or thermosets reinforced with unidirectional glass fiber. there is an obsession with skin thickness to reduce punctures and give the boat strength but thick cores or multi layer sandwiches increase sandwich performance and improve impact resistance as well and so you can make thinner skins with puncture resistance materials materials as reinforced uhmwpe. most of the weight of the boat is wasted in the hull skin over thin cores by applying uniform cloth but you can use thin plies to give more thickness in the middle and less in the stern-bow

Problematic waterplane plan form.... at relatively low heel angles the rudder lifts clear and is prone to cavitation.

CFD Analysis and experience with the FARR280 shows full control until 35-40 degrees heeling.

@@Ocean-Mariner Thanks a lot. We sold some boats and milling has started. A double rudder can be a huge advantage under certain conditions. Can be, but ... Our intention is to have a long lasting fast allround hull design for a short and medium distance racer and typical Baltic Sea and Solent conditions - windspeeds 12-16 knots average. Due to the exisiting calculations that means a single rudder and a close eye on wetted surface ... If you are sailing a double rudder, the surface area of the appendixes are changing more than with a single rudder, because upright you have the area of two rudders in the water. This means a double rudder boat more lee helm upright and that´s a big disadvantage in light air and upwind, you have less lift. If you are sailing downwind in heavy wind (25knot and more), it´s a little better for the double rudder. Very often double rudder are only a marketing gag ... fancy and cool because oiffshore long distance racer use them, Open 60 or Class 40. But these boats are optimized for downwind sailing in 20-30 knots of wind. Quite unsual conditions at most races up to 200 miles at baltic sea or Solent. But at the typical double hand race courses the single rudder is a huge advantage, because you are sailing a lot upwind. In light air the AEOLOS P30 has little wetted area and a very slender waterline compared to the competitors.

From carbon? Price will be like Boeing 747. What's the idea? You will be punished in a handicap, but in one design it does not matter what the boat is, even if it is made from toilet paper or carbon fiber.
