I know I’m two years late - but the sickle bar slides out of the haybine on the side of the wobble box , ie pull the knife head where the busing is , not the way you did it

With all due respect a nice video.. However always install the guards on both ends and in the center first. This gives you a level operating table to adjust each other guard. Yes I said adjust each one ! 99% never do it. Just slap the guards in and go. Never attach the wobble arm bold first. The bushing / bearing also must be adjusted up or down in the casting to allow the sickle to ride on the first guard correctly. If not...it will beat the wobble are to death !! Then you will have wobble arm issues too ! Use a torch to heat all the burrs on the bolts first ( cherry red ). They will be much easier to remove after heating them ! After all they are rusted in ! To adjust the guards...... make sure the sickle sits on the guards squarely. If not..... try using an old hacksaw blade......break it into short pieces.... slip one between the frame of the haybine and the new guard from the back side up under the haybine. This will tilt the guard a bit to square it up. Sometime you need to heat the guard red hot and use a long pipe to bend it down in the front also. No guard has ever been manufactured '' exact" at the factory. If the sickle does not ride on the guards " flat " dont expect them to be able to cut. No different then using a scissors with a loose bolt. Hold down clips. Make sure they are touching the sickle. If not ......use the torch and heat them red hot. Tap them lightly on the top side so the do touch. Try never to use bolted in blades The bolts extend up where the hay passes. The bolt catch / hold hay from passing through.....resulting in many more plugs !

Thanks for the tips! I learned some of what you said the hard way unfortunately. I’ll use the information next time I have to adjust or replace the cutter bar as well. Thanks!

Looks like you are missing a bolt for the support weld assembly. 6:20 of video. 1 of 3 bolts looks to be missing. They will work out and are missed b/c they are underneath. Once 2 go there is a mess.

I caught it. Thank you though!

I just traded for a 467 like yours. Do you have the cutter bar part number that you used to purchase the new assembly. I'm grateful for your help.

Hey Jeremy! I actually just went to my local New Holland dealer to purchase the cutter bar because I was having trouble determining whether or not ones I was finding would actually fit. That being said, I just checked my paperwork and the part number for the cutter bar is NH 86837281

@@gingeracres3236 Okay, I will do likewise. That's a very good video over the cutter bar. Thanks again.

Another good source for sections, guards, and knives is Webb Cutting Components (www.cuttingcomponents.com/). I buy sections by the 100 pack from them for my 467 and 451.

Good video. It is very easy to replace old riveted sickle sections. All you need is a hammer and something hard to beat against. To remove the old sickle section just turn the bar on its side and hit the top of the section and it will fall right off. You just put a rivet in then beat it with a hammer against an anvil or hard rock until it is peened. There is no special tool needed. After you do it a couple times you can replace a riveted section much faster than a bolted section.

That’s good to know, thank you! I’ll certainly give it a try next time I need to replace sections. Thank you
