New Holland 848 Airbag Guide Replacement

I haven't the foggiest why the guide bent. Maybe the pipes weren't well lubed. Not the worst repair and I got very lucky to find a used one locally. Dealer price on a new is 400 something. Adam was a great help, this isn't a good one person job just because of wrestling the airbag.

I had the same problem with mine sprayed soap water over everything couldn’t find a leak replaced all the hoses and fittings because that was cheapest still leaked down after 4-5 bales finally I filled it up to max pressure for starting then made a bale with the bale still in it sprayed soapy water over everything it was the airbags had small pinholes everywhere on top a old guy at new holland dealership said never leave them outside because the sun bakes the airbags. Hope this helps

Mine loose three pounds, but stay that way. Then I come back the next day and the gauge is where it was when I started. I wonder if the bags stretch?

Maybe the pressure differences were because of those rods binding a bit and then releasing somewhat over time? Thank God for "parts balers!"

Replace your idlers in the bale chamber there worn out that what happen to you air bags to bind it makes the bars to bend in the middle kinda like out of time been there before

Get yourself a spray bottle and some dish soap and water. Spray every connection and the airbag. You'll find it ,oh,and be patient-- it takes a while for a tiny leak to grow a beard.

I think it's airbag stretch because because it'll hold the same pressure just three - five pounds lower than when I left the house.
