Hi Ashley, looks beautiful! Just a tip for the outdoor cords, I make a little trough in the gravel and bury them, definitely helps. I also use dollar store outdoor wired garland and wrap the cords for the areas where they can't be buried etc. Helps to disguise the cord especially the white ones :D

We fluff our wreaths and then I add battery powered lights and hang them on our windows with heavy duty suction cup hooks I found on Amazon. They look so good all winter long!

Thank you for keeping it real! Everything doesn't go smooth when we try to do things! I have learned that if I find that I need something for my Christmas decor and the stores are out of the quantity I want, I put a note in my calendar for NEXT October when the stores start putting Christmas things out. I did that this year to have lights put on our house. Something we've talked about doing, but always waited until the companies that do it were too booked up. I called the last week of October to get estimates and then scheduled for the first week of November. We are thrilled with them! We have a very tall brick arch over our front entry. The light people suggested that we have lights put around it. I wondered how they would attach them to the brick. They used an industrial looking, battery operated glue gun behind each light! When they take them down, they will just pop them off with a putty knife. They look so nice, I'd like to keep them up all year!

It's so good to see others have similar problems with outdoor Christmas decorations even on the other side of the world! We're in the UK and putting outside lights up is always a challenge - it's usually freezing cold, often wet and we're getting on in age now so even decorating a much smaller property is pretty difficult - my husband is in charge of the electrics and we struggle to hide cords and plugs too! I'm sure yours will look even more beautiful when your lights finally work 🙂

We had the same issues with lights on our peaks so we invested in Trimlight and now it’s as simple as turning our lights to what ever color we want for the season- so worth the investment ❤

I use the regular size artificial wreaths on all of our front windows. I put a red bow on the bottom and have a battery operated flickering candle on the window sill inside each candle. They appear to have the candles glowing inside of each wreath. But the candles are actually inside of the windows and wreaths are hung outside of each window. Our house sits on a hill, so the wreaths look awesome from the road/driveway. I’m hanging some white and blue icicle lights up inside of our cathedral ceiling in front of the wood beam at the crest. Your home is beautiful! When I was house keeping for the first time I kept an immaculate home like yours. My sister would visit me when I first got pregnant with my son, and tell me “you just wait until you have kids, your house will never look like this again!” NOT SO MUCH! I kept an immaculate home while raising my children. The kids were always great at helping keep their rooms up, and putting away clean clothes. And no one minded vacuuming either. Now my husband and I live at home alone, and I find it harder to keep it clean just for us. It’s CLEAN, just not to my standards…lol.I recently retired from a high stress job, and it’s really hard to get motivated! We live very rural on a gravel road in a mountain hollow. We have animals and two Great Pyrenees. The dogs love their spoiled life, but their fur!!! They drop their undercoat twice a year, for 6 months each time!🤣🤣 I use a lightweight vacuum daily and I was gifted a very nice Dyson vacuum for really deep vacuuming. It’s too heavy for everyday use. But I like using it before shampooing the carpet. 😊

Looks amazing Ashley! Just an FYI, we make our wreaths and it's very easy. Savy would love this tradition. You buy any size ring you would like and some fresh boughs and trim them down and bunch a few together and lay them on the ring and wrap tight with wire and repeat all the way around to the beginning and decorate any way you like. You re use the rings every year and takes up minimal space and looks better than any store wreath. Our family does this every year together and its such great memories, the more the merrier!!!

What I do to make the less expensive wreaths look more luxe, is I over fluff them and add picks of varying texture and colour to them. I also make a custom bow using ribbon with wire or thread the ribbon through the branches.

Everything looks great! Lights are the devil! Lol. I always breathe a sigh of relief when I get the tree decorated and the lights are still working. One year i had to take it apart 3 times and start over because my strands of lights kept going out. Every single branch was wrapped in a strand of lights (before pre lit trees) and a section would go out before I could get it finished. I finally just ripped them all off and laid the lights on the branches. I got rid of that tree after Christmas and bought a pre lit one. I have ptsd every year. I love the big wreaths!!!

I think you could light your wreaths, simple is fine. I don’t like a lot outside, I put some candles in the windows and wreaths up. Decorate near the front door and call it a day.
