Option 2 for the lights is my recommendation. The shape & size just works so much better on that wall. The more cooler toned metal doesn’t bother me at all but if it really bothers you then just get some gold toned metallic paint and paint the metal.

Personally I can imagine having a little reading nook where the play area is once you don't need it anymore. I'd go with gold lights, they look really pretty with the beige. Maybe a bit bigger, depends if you want to have another look around or settle for one you already bought.

Just funny thing I noticed. Kecap manis (which is basically sweet soy sauce) is originally Indonesian and very common here in the Netherlands (well you know something with colonies in the past and lots of people from there moved to the Netherlands in time). I think it’s the most sold soy sauce over here 😄 The differences between before and after in your new living room are already like a 100 degrees btw, so much better now!

Definitely option 2, option 1 doesn’t look well with the picture to me. If you can get the gold in larger size it would look even better. Your lounge might need a change round, hate to say it but not sure a corner sofa suits the room, two facing each other would look better. Hi Charlotte. You’ve found a lovely new family home and such a beautiful garden. I imagine once Lou starts the renovations, it will be fantastic. As for the wall lights, I prefer the shades and size of the second ones but like the gold colour of the brackets- could you perhaps spray them? The kitchen is absolutely fine for now and there’s no point in updating it as you will be changing it all eventually. I so wish we had Hello Fresh here in Greece as it looks marvellous but we are so lucky to have a really wide choice of fresh veg and fruit here as well as many delicious traditional dishes. It must be wonderful living so close to the beach and I wish you all much happiness.💛🌻

Its coming together nicely! prefer gold toned lights but maybe get a bigger shade. Also may be a thought for the playpen area will be to make it a reading nook, with a lovely armchair, stool and lamp and eventually change out the cabinet for a bigger cabinet or shelves which you can style xx

Fantastic house, loving it and as you say it’s a project. Prefer the warmer tone light, but half moon shade which I hope is plain. Wow loving the new home. Have a play if you can with the sofa. Have you tried it in another position? Maybe the tv could move to the other wall where the picture is? Not sure if that is an option? I like the silver sconces but if they were gold? Love the new home so much potential. Agree you may have to pop away some of your decorative items, thin them out for now particularly with Lotti crawling. It’s going to be lovely to see the changes over time. It’s a lovely garden too. The garden is absolutely fabulous, Charlotte! I can see it in a year or so. I’m sure it will be totally transformed and so beautiful. prefer the gold tone in the living room. I think you are totally right about the warmth it provides. I definitely see your point regarding the small size of the sconces, however. I would get some Grecian Gold Rub and Buff or another brand of paint, gilding, etc. and change the color in the larger sconces. Also, I’m with you on the little pictures…. Too small for that large expanse of wall. The room has such a nice, cozy feel. Love your new home! ❤

Hello, greetings from Canada. The wall lamp with the gold base is too small. However, I would suggest that you try to source a company who can dip the base of the second lamp base in gold or warm brass for you. Then in my opinion it would look stunning. Miss seeing mum, since the move.

The moment your child starts to walk, all your decoration plans will change :D don´t put a new couch there, just keep the space for a big mat for her to play on...even though it´s not esthetically pleasing, it will happen- We are not using our coffee table anymore, we have 2 toddlers, we didn´t turn the room into a giant playroom but had to make some compromises. My sister has 2 kids who are over 6 now and she says she can finally decorate again and use her normal furniture 🤣

Congratulations on the new home, it looks lovely and the yard is fantastic. Both sconces are nice however I think that wall could handle a taller size to balance out the artwork. And yes, the frames are too small on that other wall. Can’t wait to see what you do with the addition on the house & the kitchen layout. Just have Lou spray the silver ones gold I think they give more light than the gold and seem bigger. I would also get him to take down the glass with assistance. That stuff is dangerous and shatters badly. Keep some aloe gel in your kitchen for burns will help speed healing. Your garden is beautiful I see why Lou saw potential even with just that. I would get rid of that pond asap as well. An addition would go well there in place of that even with permitted development. If you want a change of floral arrangements maybe pet safe plants could be used to bring some colour into the livingroom. You can change the doors of cabinets and just replace the tile in the kitchen easily done quickly until you are ready to change it overall. The floor can be taken up depending on what it is either that or putting down peel and stick tile. Perfectly usable until you are ready. You could even move the kitchen into where you have the playroom and move that into the kitchen area and put a laundry facility into it.
