I decided to get this and expand for my older kids!!! I will have a 3rd grader and 2nd grader!!! We expanded the ocean science for my older kids!!! We’ve just moved to Hawaii and our seasons are more surf than temperatures as it’s tropical!!! I decided to add in nutrition thru discussing it as we get to certain topics in the course!!! My dyslexic kids go down on memory statements level!!! I translate the words for French or Spanish to German so we can work on those words!!! That’s what we did for nature 2!!!

I think adding in conversations about nutrition would be very easy to do and a natural connection!

I think it's definitely ideal for mid-upper elementary (3rd-6th) but she does give good ideas for including little siblings.

Hi! :) have you tried any of sonlights science? I wonder which would you prefer for kinder to grade 2?:)

Yes, we used Sonlight Science K last year and are currently using Sonlight Science A this year. We used Gentle + Classical Nature Vol 2 for PreK. I wouldn't say I necessarily have a preference...they are different and do different things well. Gentle + Classical is more of a deep-dive into one topic in the natural sciences, and Sonlight covers a wide variety of different science topics for a short period of time. Sonlight has more in the way of "experiments," which G+C leans more toward the nature study approach to science. We've had a lot of fun with both. I do plan to use this Agricultural Science in the future when my boys are older.
