The new CRF 300L has just been released in Thailand so i ran off down to my local dealer to check it out…
They didn’t have an Rally models but they are due soon.
Claimed 31hp is a significant increase over current 250’s.
Very tempting, but i’ll need to sort out the ‘low’ Thai suspension.
Now will my uprated suspension on my 2013 CRF fit?

Thanks for the video, I wish they were made in Japan like the wr250r. It's nice that the bike weighs less but the wr250r weighs about 10 pounds lighter still with the updates and it came out in 2008. Hopefully it comes to the states, would be nice to compare it to my wr250r.

@@bobz1736 As of now in the US the crf250l costs 5200, the wr250r costs 6700, so about 1500 difference. But your getting better build quality, better suspension, high quality frame out of the box.

@@JohnnyBoy919 - interesting. I spent about 1000 upgrading my CRF to make it more capable but that's because you can't buy easily the WR here in Thailand and it would be subject to significant import duty. I wonder why more people don't buy the WR in other countries? Does it have any downsides?

@@bobz1736 the only downsides I can think of are lack of torque at low rpm. It makes the most amount of hp but you have to get it to like 10k rpm to make it. Have to ride it like a 2 stroke. Also no led lighting, turn signals but that's just cosmetics and could be upgraded easily, I did that to mine.

Unfortunately that's probably not gonna happen where I live. There will be only a limited amount available and only people who actually want it amd can afford it will buy it. So I will have to buy it brand new :/

@@RonaiHenrik im seeing them on farcebook every day being maxed out with fat bars, suspension, shiny trinkets and exhausts. Ill wait a year, thats usually when they cant contine the finance on it all. :)

No one is going to bling out to the max and not be able to afford it.What you will get is stock,6 months old and 500 bucks less if you're lucky.

@@theravedaddy yea, *you* might, but in Hungary *I* don't. Only 1 single 250L in used market which is very far from blinged out. When they first put it up it was the same price as the new 300L. Used.

I’m curious too. I see lots of people saying it won’t. I don’t understand how these things are decided at all but something about engine size regs?

@@cheefussmith9380 People are just speculating. It's hard to see why Honda wouldn't bring it to the states when there is a high demand for it. The 250l has done very well in the US market and it barely can keep up with highway speeds. The 300 would be perfect for US consumers and might even phase out the 250L if it does come over.

@@cheefussmith9380 I believe there are additional regulations in Japan for bikes over 250cc, so the speculation is perhaps they will not place this in the Japanese and similarly, US markets. However, given Kawasaki's 2021 lineup, I expect we will see this and a 300cc class bike from Yamaha in the US soon. At least I hope.

It's a budget bike so gets budget suspension, which for many owners is just fine... Those of us that want something better can buy it from the many aftermarket options to suit our weight and riding style

I had a sales rep here in Australia try to tell.me these have more power and less weight than a mid 90's XR250. He need to read the specs..these new bikes are heavier and less.powerful than the old bikes. Bling doesn't make you go faster or stop better. It just costs the hip pocket

No, not with their shitty metal which you can bend with a spanner and not with a plastic kit that costs over €500. Honda may have it.

Do you perhaps know if the seat height will remain the same for the EU market? They still don't know in the dealer and I want to buy one. But 830 mm is really too low for me, I was hoping it would remain the same 890ish, as the 250L.

I don't know for certain but the current model has a taller ride height for western countries so it's logical to presume the new model will...

Bummer it has a one piece rear sub compared to my old reliable 250L, great bike still, looking forward to potentially getting one soon

I have seen many people mention this. Is that really such a big deal? I'm not really planning on taking it to very heavy off-road with a lot of luggage.

@Bubz of Steel I think the factory warranty should cover if anything happens to the frame. I will have Casco as well, at least for the first 2 years or so.

on crf250l max load capacity is 150 kg. It is too small to travel for 2 days or more if you are 95 kg. 4.5 kg max luggage capacity - it is insane for travel. I hope new version corrected this, but nothing told about this.

I think it is lower than the 250, the seat is thinner. I sat on one it was as if I was sitting in it

In Thailand it'll be 830mm for the short people here...the rest of the world should get 895mm

@@bobz1736 A human can never outbrake ABS. I'm not going to own a bike without ABS again after reading the studies that show it reduces chances of injury and deadly accidents by 30%.

i 'understand' the 'Reasoning'...but i just Wish they made These 'types' of Bikes...with a 'Lower' seat height for the 'Vertically challenged'!...Also...Honda Needs To 'LIGHTEN UP' ( Weight )...as well...Would 'Love' to see a 300cc Africa Twin DCT!!!..

You can drop 2 inches right out of it by drilling a hole higher up in the bottom shock mount and raising the forks in the yokes

The frame looks super cheap. It looks like stamped and welded as opposed to cast

The frame is the worst part of this bike, it's one piece instead of two on all other versions... So even a seemingly minor crash could result in total frame replacement.

Frame is never cast material. It's either steel or alu tubes.

@@nestserau you are very wrong. Look for any Japanese 600cc or 1000cc sport bike from the last 2 decades. Even some current Ducatis. Would like to even direct your attention to this bike. But the middle section looks so cheap I'm not sure anymore

Cheap-ass disposable scooter sold for premium money. Only one radiator and that thin exhaust pipe which looks more like a coolant hose means it's detuned as hell. And its garbage suspension becomes life-threatening offroad... After owning a CRF250L for a year I promised myself I'd never buy another Honda again. The new KLX300 2021 has two radiators, it's a more serious machine, which is obvious just by looking at it.
