I do believe this is a great "SUV" for does who just like to ride through gravel roads during the weekends while Use it during the week to commute. I actually see it as a hell of a cruiser for long distance trips. It's comfortable, reliable, there's options to mount cases on it that makes it almost a perfect bike for does who don't push to much outside pavement road's.
@steveh71083 жыл бұрын
@@Brislu I'm in the US and I happen to agree with you. I don't care what other people think and I don't care about my image with other bikers. This seems like it would be a very fun and multi use motorcycle. I can see this being very convenient to jump on just to go get a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread. Leave it parked in the drive and don't care if it gets rained on. No big deal taking one of the many dirt roads around here to a friend's house or for a shortcut. Many of the best adventure motorcycles are too tall to be convenient on casual dirt roads. Rocky or slippery back roads in particular we're a big bike you get thrown around and have to ride fast and aggressively in order to stay upright.

I quite like that none of the other manufacturers have figured the Xadv out yet to churn out a competitor. Such a niche is what makes this bike tick the demand box. Then again, Toad, you could not have had this bike for all this time and not mention the smartphone connectivity functionality of that new screen. Otherwise the review is spot on, as was the habitat you chose for the bike. Perfect mix.

Having passed my CBT on a scooter, because I just cannot get to grips with a clutch, I am looking at going down the automatic route for motorbikes. I'm 60 and can't be bothered learning to use the clutch on a manual bike. Call me lazy, I don't mind. So in my situation, this is the bike that I aspire to purchase once I've passed my mod 1 and 2. The NC750 just doesn't look that good tbh. This is different though. I love the design, build and the tyres look meaty. And even if I get some bikers not nodding to me because I'm on a scooter, then who cares. It's all about enjoyment and this looks enjoyable to me 🙂
@thebrowns53372 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I love my dsg car and (apart from the vw camper we just bought) I'd never go back to manual. So tedious, inefficient, slow... a decent modern auto is way better. I'm just about to do a cbt and the idea of a clutch seems like ballache. I'll give it a good go but ultimately I aim for a dct bike to have more focus on pleasure in riding. Out of all the dct bikes this seems the most interesting and versatile. Looks don't concern me as much as fun, pleasure, ease of use. The world is so shallow sometimes.

I have a severely disabled left hand with missing fingers. So using a brake lever for me is something I'm okay with but not a clutch. Just don't think my dexterity is good enough for that to be safe. Plus I already have a scooter. So having a DCT motorcycle with a left brake lever will ease the learning curve on a bigger bike.

Bought one during lock-down and enjoyed it for a month now. Had to source rider footrests from France and reset the Rev limit from 6000 to 7000 which is the redline. Great fun and variety. Standard mode in town, sport everywhere else. Compared to all other maxi scoots, it sounds and handles like a motorcycle and acceleration from standstill is the best utilising the DTC. Now had a rear rack and extended hand guards fitted. Very happy!

I am very intrigued by the X-Adv. So much so, that it would make this vintage-only, seasoned motorcycle rider consider buying one. I get all kinds of vibes from it. A mixture of Dan Gurney's "Alligator" with a DN-01, Maxi-Scooter and the original boring-as-possible NC700. It's quite overwhelming. At first I was like "it's a NC750 without the convenient "tank" storage. But then you said that there are massive amounts of space under the seat and it feels very different than a NC750, which are both very important factors. I see this bike as a result of the continuous quest that someday the perfect "one bike that does it all" will be built. Too bad they don't sell them in the USA. Thanks for the review.

I live in the Croydon area where the roads are atrocious and it’s that type of use where I’m keen to see how it handles plus real roads beyond. The power your quote is wrong. It’s closer to 60 bhp up from 54. It’s a bike that you either get or don’t. I don’t believe it’s more than a styling exercise but good on Honda for creating something different. The fact there are no imitators 4 years on says it all. I’d hope to see it vs the 750 Forza, it’s closest alternative.

I own an NC750X and it's not a dull bike. Only dull reviewers think it is. The 2021 version is a bit of a weird one, as Honda are trying to combine both the S & X versions into one. Throwing this out there and just saying, you would not say that about the Honda VFR 1200 Dct, CTX, Africa Twin DCT, or the Gold Wing. You might about the Honda 750 Integra but as you say, you've come to like the DCT. I am a convert as well coming from my last bike Triumph Bonnie to the CTX700 DCT which has overall made me a better rider as I focus more on riding that clutch control. The DCT allows me to upshift and downshift lightning fast to handle all conditions. Cheers for the vid, watching them all.
