Kristina!! I have a question I really hope you can help with. I have a bachelor of science in Environmental science and minor in biology. I really want to become a wildlife biologist but I see the requirements require x amount of credits in zoology, plant science, etc (I have a few but not enough). Any recommendations on where I can gain this information/ how to get this knowledge without going back to school??? Are there any online sites to take classes that are reputable or is learning the stuff by yourself an option. Thanks much love, been with you since 1k subs love to see u grow :D

Congrats on the house! Do you feel like you've limited your career options now that you have a house and aren't maybe able to move around as easily for new opportunities? I've heard many times about needing to move where jobs are. Is that just when first starting a career?
@kristina_lynn3 жыл бұрын
I don't feel that anymore because I have a stable job I like, and im in a good location for jobs. but I did feel like that at the beginning of my career when it was more competitive

I see your collaborating w Keith C.P.L. so I subscribed. Interested how you managed to buy. I'm S.Vancouver Island (Sooke) & have been looking for a house/land over a year but the prices are over inflated. I'm looking from Ucluelet to Port Alberni.
@kristina_lynn3 жыл бұрын
It's absurdly expensive. I sadly don't have any cheap land tips as I have the worlds biggest mortgage lol. Our place (Victoria) has already gone up at least 150k since we bought which is honestly horrifying. I worked at fly in fly out sites in Alberta for 6 years away from home for months doing overtime, combined with my partner who has a good engineering job, equity from a condo in Calgary, eating beans and rice for years, and still had to borrow some money from his parents to land this place and we barely snagged it. We lost 5 bids and about a year full of tears and frustration searching. We took a lot of risks buying the place that I normally wouldn't be comfortable with as a normally frugal person, but I think it worked out for us. Im not too familiar with the up island market but I would look at small towns on the mainland too honestly, it seems like this price jump is impacting everyone.

Congratulations for your new house andi love your house and just wanted to ask that does cutting grass harmful for the biodiversity
@kristina_lynn3 жыл бұрын
That's a great question, if you have lots of weeds that flower (like my lawn which is like half weeds) the pollinators really like the flowers. I have a ton of other flowering areas of my yard though for them, and my neighbours probably wouldn't appreciate if I don't mow my front yard haha. I am not a big fan of grass though (it's just not the most productive and ecologically beneficial use of land) and I want to slowly start turning it to pollinator gardens, maybe some wildflower meadow, and veggie garden
@ediblelandscaping15043 жыл бұрын
@@kristina_lynn Clover is a great pollinator species, parts are edible and it is a nitrogen fixer so actually it's terrific if you have it. Many other beneficial species in many yards as well....
@kristina_lynn3 жыл бұрын
@@ediblelandscaping1504 I agree, I am working on replacing my Bermuda grass with clover (eventually). It will be a bit of a battle against the Bermuda, but I just love clover for pathways

Hi Krissy, its Jack! Look out your back window! Nah, it's not. But I have some advice. Get dogs. Scary ones. Find someone who will teach you proficiency with a shot gun. Pay very close attention to what he teaches you. Treat it like your kids lives depend on it. Then buy several shot guns, load them with very powerful shells and put them all throughout your home. Tons of security and never let your guard down. Danger comes in many forms and any time. You deserve to be safe after what happened. Sorry about the intro. I wanted to grab your attention. Oh, and (2)more things. Pull the trigger!!! And no more cramping.
