Thanks for the thorough review! I was comparing HP 9135e and HP 9125e, but the larger display size, speed, sound, longevity (all shown or talked about in your video), and summary in your video toward the end [23:56-32:09] won me to decide upon the 9135e. The ink is expensive (I decided to buy a separate ink set outright). I hope the choice goes well setting up the 9135e... it's a big chunk of money for a library assistant.

It is a shame that Instant Ink just isn't worth it as the cost is much higher. The math on the standard, XL, and high yield cartridge options comes out with standard being the better value. All calculations based on HP's estimated print yield. HP even indicates that cost is around 10 cents a page on Instant Ink once the max is reached for the purchased monthly package. Buying cartridges outright is only 2 or 3 cents a page without the hassles of subscription and limitations of having a useless printer when it can't connect to the HP service.

They have increased the prices a bit recently. Like everything in this forsaken world of ours, but I have found it to be cheaper and more convenient. I also have never had any problems not being able to use my printer if it's not connected to Wi-Fi. As long as my subscription was up to date the last time it was connected, I can still use it the next time it connects. But to be fair, I never have a problem staying connected to the internet. Considering you get 6 months free of any plan you want with the purchase of your new printer, I am fortunate to still pay $20 a month for 1,000 prints. I see now that it's 700 prints for $28, but you still get the free six months. I don't typically use just black and white printing; I use heavy ink-demanding prints that would quickly deplete my old printer, and I was spending quite a bit on cartridges. For me, it's saving me at least 50% a year. Of course, everyone's needs are different. The average person will probably only need the $4 or $5 plan per month, which adds up to very little. I guess it all just depends. I do like that HP gives you a choice to either buy on your own or sign up for a subscription. I guess it would be kind of messed up if they forced subscriptions; that would also probably drive the price up even more. But regardless if you do by this printer, definitely take advantage of the trial. You can literally sign up for it and cancel it right away, but you'll still get your 6 months free. Anyway, that's my opinion. I hope you have a good night.

Thanks for the video. Unfortunately the part I really wanted to see seems to be edited out. You start to show SCAN but it then jumps to COPY at 21:50. I just bought and installed this printer. I hit SCAN then SCAN TO COMPUTER then choose my computer then hit SEND. SEND goes grey but where has it sent it? As well when I hit SEND the printer doesn't seem to do anything ie. no noise etc.

It cut out as I was doing a copy scan, not to another device, etc. If you want to scan, you press Scan. Then you have Scan to Email, Scan to USB, and Scan to Network. This can only be done once you have your HP account set up on your PC or mobile device. You need the printer to be connected to one of the wireless networks and to a device via cable, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth. Also, remember a scan will not take place unless you have a document to be scanned in the scan bay. For me, the easiest way to do a scan the way you're needing is to use the HP app. Put what you need to be scanned in your printer, then press Scan on the app right on your mobile device, and you can attach it to anything you need to in any format needed.

The 9125e is a single-drawer printer. You will want to go with this one 9135e for what you need for the best results. @@JbTechFanatic it’s just ordinary Avery-type label paper - I’ve had HP printers for decades and never had one that wouldn’t print on these sheet of labels. I’ve experimented with all the paper types listed on the printer menu that would be different than plain paper and just get “printer mis-match” errors. The only way I can get label paper to print in this printer is to remove all paper from both trays and then “force” the printer to print in spite of the error message. Very aggravating! With the number of people selling online, the ability (the option) to print labels seems like a no-brained, especially with the latest & greatest inkjet printer.
