Thanks for all your advice! I ordered this laptop a month ago with maxed out specs and I can't wait to get it! It's going to arrive mid-January. I was looking at the xps-15 and the Lenovo ThinkPad extreme Gen 4, I decided on the OLED two-in-one for the functionality. Thanks for all your reviews! I couldn't have done it without you. I treated myself. Got the 3050 and a 2tb drive and 32 gigs of RAM.

Awesome review once again! As a Spectre x360 15" 16 RAM with 11th gen i7 User (which btw, I chose it thanks to your review on it), i was hoping i'd see more improvement on this device. it doesn't seem like it has too much new to offer other then the 16" 16:10 Aspect Ratio. Waiting to see the review on the RTX one. My main concern about this laptop is the AWFUL positioning of the Power cord between the Type-C ports. as i see, the Barrel pin port didn't change (its still L shaped), and i can easily see that interfering with the Type-C located on the gem-cut. i would really like too see that tested on the full review.R

Great video Andrew. Really appreciate the efforts. This has been on my radar, along with Lenovo Yoga 9i with Intel 10th gen. The HP Spectre x360 16 wins hands down with the RTX 3050 GPU while Yoga 9i is still using 1650 TI. However, what the Yoga 9i wins over x360 16 is its CPU, which is Core i9 with 8 core. HP with 32GB while Lenovo with 16GB. Real headache for me to decide 😄 I noticed that the power button is located on the top right of keyboard layout as part of the keyboard. My friend had an issue with the earlier model when his notebook suddenly crashed, he couldn't turn it down until the juice is depleted. This is a big concern for me.

Glad to see you back. Before I forget have a nice holiday and New Year. Can you believe another year has flown by. Nice PC. The 1080p camera and microphone on this unit are both excellent. Display looks very good. Like the easy access to opening this unit. Glad to see they got away from putting screws under rubber strips. One thing you did not mention is the removal of the numpad on this unit. Would have liked to see a keyboard layout like the 16 in HP Victus which includes a numpad. I notice many manufacturers of the 16in are also not including numpads on their units. One option is the following: Recently I purchased from Amazon two separate numpads. The Foloda sells for $38.99 and the other a Havit sells for about $20.00. Both of these are full size numpads with an excellent layout and feel. They are small and light and easily fit in a travel bag. Both also connect to the PC using bluetooth and are rechargeable. This could be an excellent option for those who need to use a numpad when using applications that require it. You might want to look into something like this. Looking forward to your full review. As always and excellent "First Looks" review.

This looks like a lovely, capable, well-made HP laptop and I have loved many entries in the Spectre line, BUT it has a horrendous fatal flaw! This flaw will preclude me from EVER considering it: the fingerprint sensor IN the keyboard replacing the right Ctrl key. I'm a writer/editor and I use that right Ctrl key, oh, several times a day--let's say, on the order of a THOUSAND times per day. Seriously. It enables a quick one-handed Ctrl + Del to delete the next word and a one-handed Ctrl + Backspace to delete the previous word. Also, the Ctrl + Right or Left arrows moves the cursor one word left or right. Those right-hand key combos are absolutely essential; I use them ALL the time. Losing that right Ctrl key makes the same keystroke combos into two-handed movements, which would crash my productivity and make writing/editing on this machine painful, if not virtually impossible. I know lots of writers who would feel the same way. We are ALWAYS deleting and backspacing! This right-hand claw key combo is the most efficient way to do it. Also, it's a huge waste of keyboard space to swap a key a writer uses a thousand times a day (conservative estimate) for a fingerprint scanner most people would use once or twice a day. This trend (Samsung and Acer are doing it too) is the most idiotic keyboard disruption since the related trend to integrate the Power button into the keyboard (which I notice this laptop also does), where you will inadvertently hit the Off button and send the laptop into sleep mode a dozen times a day. So I give this laptop a giant THUMBS DOWN, with my thumb on the right CTRL key, where it belongs.
@robertwilliams46462 жыл бұрын
@@conheo4 Well, that's a solution. "Sorry, we put the Power button in the maddeningly worst possible place, but not to worry, it doesn't work anyway." Does it only turn the laptop on, not off, and then you have to just shut down through Windows? If so, then you could never do a hard reset (hold the Power button down til it shuts down) when Windows hangs up and won't close. Not a good solution either. I think many engineers who design laptops never even use laptops...

Thanks for your review. I got this laptop from Best Buy a couple of days ago with 1 TB storage and in nightfall black (no other choice of color). I am quite happy with its overall performance so far except that I do find the screen a bit too wobbly. This is particularly an issue when I am using the webcam, such as for a Zoom meeting, and other people will see me wobbling because the webcam built-in on the screen will wobble when I tap on the screen to perform the functions as a host. The video and audio quality of the webcam is quite good but the color looks a bit pale or grayish. The location of the power port between the two USB C ports is a terrible mistake. I need to turn the L-shape angle power plug so that the cable cord points upward to the sky in order to make way for both USB C ports to be accessible at the same time. One last and major issue is that the RAM is soldered on the motherboard. I was not aware of this earlier and am now very concerned that if the soldered RAM fails just after the one-year warranty expires, it will render the motherboard useless and CAD2200+taxes down the drain. Although I don't anticipate a need for an upgrade in the 16GB RAM, there is no guarantee that I will not have bad luck with a defective item. I am now debating whether I should return the laptop.

As an owner of both, I can tell you that the 16-inch has: -a bigger screen (22 milimeters or .83 inches), - better processor (5-6% improvement on Geekbench) - better battery life (about 20%), - quieter fans, - no number pad, - speakers are on the sides (not below the screen), and - .20 lbs heavier, a bit taller, and slightly thinner. That's about it.
