New HUSQVARNA 701 LR Rally!

Recent bike build I made based on the Husqvarna 701 LR (Long Range) where I turned it into a proper Rally Bike by applying a Rally Kit, a Bashplate with Water Reserve, Full navigation equipment and a more comfortable seat cover. This bike is going to be ridden at the 2020 Transitalia Marathon which is an Amateur Adventure Riding event that goes across Italy and where you can either use Roadbook or GPS, in this case we mounted both. This bike will also race Africa Eco Race 2021.

Nice work. I agree the 701 LR are the best looking fuel tanks for the 701/690 platform. Having two fuel pumps provides good back -up for a common fault area too.

Hi Manuel, nice build. I like the water tank cap (big enough, the KTM one is so small and difficult to fill water!) and the RNS tripmaster. No mud however expected in AER, Morocco cannot be crossed, so only Senegal and Mauretania.

@@marcocinelli1954 Hi Marco, according to Africarace organisation they cannot enter Morocco these days to prepare the tracks. That is why AER will start in Dakar and cover Senegal and Mauritania only. I am looking forward to it, 101 days unto the start!

Thanks Thomas for the quick answer. Is it easier with AER to cross the border between Mauritania and Senegal? In Rosso it should be tricky, I heard, because of the Mafia there. I crossed the border at Diama, which was no problem. I wish you a lot of fun at the AER. How much does it cost, I mean how much money does the AER want from you?

Mira Dockal it’s a Samsung Active Tab 2 it’s a water and dust proof tablet that costs about 350 euro and the bracket is by Brodit with key so that you can lock it. I mounted it on vibration rubbers that are used on the Rebel kits

Mira Dockal absolutely NOT, Special Things have been copying several Rebel Kits so be aware as they might look the same in photo but the quality even of the windshield is totally different. Rebel uses street legal CE certified windshield whereas Specialthings used a Chinese copy of the windshield with no homologation

Mira, have a look at the products of Rade Garage too, he is a Cech and I think his products are much cheaper. The tab he uses costs more, but is much better than the one from Samsung. I instead prefer the Rally Tower from Nomad, Holland. It lets the LR look much thinner.

Question: Can the Hella lights with the plastic frame be fitted into the 2017 KTM RR bike? The transparent plastic front is the same it seems, I wonder if I can replace my "old" bulb lights with these LED ones. Maybe you have such a bike and can compare the two. Thanks.

It’s the same, they practically only shortened the front section that would go over the radiator shrouds on the standard 701
