7:43 it’s meant to be a plus for both of those minus signs. Basically vertical variance means that the recoil has some randomness to it. So sometimes it will go up more and sometimes it won’t. Basically it’s saying that it will increase that randomness that it has making the recoil a little bit more crazy.
