ICM used to be compared (favourably) to the best of the long established makers - however for some time now ICM have become a benchmark to judge other kits by. Excellent kits & some very attractive choices of subject.

Very nice kit great review ICM really know how to produce interesting subjects, how scary a prospect it must of been to fly at barrage balloon cables rather them then me, l think there is only one problem with ICM which one to get first 😳

The gun in the windscreen was usually fixed to fire forward(when fitted) and fired by the pilot, as was the (optional) gun in the tail-cone. The Navigator/bomb-aimer manned the flexible nose-gun.

Looks like a very good kit. The surface detail and the clear parts look excellent. The paravane makes the He 111 look like a flying cheese slicer. Until number 600 next week, happy first day of summer!

The RAF tried the same idea with I understand a Wellington bomber. Not sure of the mark but it was deemed a failure by Farnborough.

A good review Peter of a lovely kit I intend to add to my stash. Fitting the paravane is going to be quite a job though because it involves measuring hole positions in fractions of a millimeter. I wish ICM had marked the positions of the holes for us to drill. I might try completing the plane without first drilling the holes and then attaching the finished paravane.

I have built a few ICM kits. The “PARAVANE” He-111 looks interesting. I wonder if ICM will make the minesweeper version of the Blohm und Voss 138 seaplane.

I had to get some photo etch sawing blades to remove all the tiny bits ICM provides on the 1/48 bombers!

Not sure if I got a notification for this review in time. I didn't know aircraft were sometimes equipped with cutting devices against balloons although I did know about those huge metal hoops against mines. Seems ICM got around the political correctness of not depicting hooked crosses by cutting them in two.

Thank you for the video! - i can't understand, why anybody looks at this clear parts and says they are georgeous - If you dont look through the parts but focus in the center of the plastic at an angle and on the surface you can see very obvious distortion in many ways. This is especially so by eastern europe manufacturers - o.k. maybe this are the best clear parts from ICM but they are far away from - for example - 30 year old hasegawa parts... - Am i the only one who sees it this way?

im building a similar icm 1/48 icm He111 i think the clear parts are really good for the scale the slight destortion is fine with the scale. tbh would the original plane be crytal clear from the 40's when built

I’ll be buying one & when it’s finished I’ll hopefully be admiring (thanks to ICM) a wonderful rendition of the He111 but not squinting at the glazing at various angles to pick up the odd undulation. I agree, blemish free clear parts are ideal but the He111 is a tough subject in that respect for any maker.

Regarding the "ancient Hindu symbol"controversy,I bought the Vintage Airfix 1/24 Stuka and as a child of the sixties imagine my absolute disgust of the pc intrusion regarding the decal sheets.If we ignore or pretend the past didn't exist or happen we are doomed to repeat such mistakes.Airfix get a grip and do what ICM have done here FFS.
