When I was a young man I bought tool brands like Snap-on because I figured they'd last a lifetime. Now I'm in my 70s and I buy tools from Harbor Freight, because I figure they'll last a lifetime... mine at least. I bought a SeeSii battery impact wrench after your first test of one and it rides on my tractor to make in-field maintenance easier. It has worked well, and if it does die because of mistreatment, well, it won't break the bank to buy another.

Please do the seesii 1/2 inch right angle impact. I've had mine for 2 months and it is doing wayyyy more than I thought. I paid $70 with a coupon from Amazon and had a prime deal. I haven't had any problems. I use it for suspension work, engine, and sometimes lug nuts. It has multiple settings for torque built in...thank you for all the work you put in. My tool selection is based off from your findings. I appreciate "the bang for the buck" tool testing. America needs TTC

I bought the cheap mid torque at 96 + tax; if it works as demonstrated by ttc, it will save my back and weaking hand strength. If it get stolen, it's not much of an economic loss; far cheaper than my Milwaukee m18 compact.

@@markm0000 I have had the mid torque for about 2 years. The subcompact for about 8 months. I keep them clean and also add grease to the hammer cage when needed. The subcompact surprised me sometimes. Being able to remove exhaust manifold bolts off a 94 Duramax using a swivel socket at max angle.

My first impact was a rigid and it took a lot of abuse before I switched to collecting milwaukee tools. The rigid fell off a second story deck onto concrete and all I did was reconnect the battery that flew off and she went for another year no problems. I refuse to have more than 1 brand of battery and milwaukees got all the specialty tools I need.

It was gearwrench my favorite brand. I have use that brand for ratchets and almost all my hand tools. The warranty process is very easy and they are very good price. As for the battery platforms, I have four ryobi(drill), Milwaukee m12(impact driver), snap on (electric ratchets), and rigid (impact wrenches)

In the case of the 2855 it's not a shiny glowing ring like this Ingersol Rand, just 3 discrete LEDs placed around the anvil. I would think a similar illumination effect though.

I DON'T use an impact wrench every day, and after you tested a SeeSii for the first time, I bought one. I don't know how it would stand up in a shop, but it's a way for a homeowner to justify a cordless impact, and (probably) not get burned.

I got that green seesii kit on sale with a coupon for $120 and ive worked it hard on the rust buckets up here with no issues. Took off seized and rusted 19mm break carrier bolts after about 20 seconds and a pretty rusty but not as bad 32mm wheel bearing nut in about 15 seconds. Overall its come through for me and is compact enough to got into some tighter places where my other high torques cant fit. Also got an actual right angle made by them from a friend and it’s pretty awesome.

@@AH6man I can also attest that the right angle is badass. Brought mine to the junkyard yesterday and threw it at a ton of stuff. 14mm to 17mm caliper bolts that were insanely rusted together, even tried some 20mm subframe bolts and sure enough it came through. It’s sweet for the wheel wells.

Yes, I think the most important thing is, are the internal parts properly hardened, and do the batteries last at all? A lot of Briggs and Stratton lawnmowers for for decades used an aluminum cylinder bore with no cast iron liner but there was no way for consumers to know any different. Using the wrong metals or non-hardened metals can make something last about 90% less.

​@@RitalieInternals would definitely need looking into, up to and including making sure the battery interface is safe to use (not going to overdraw a battery and end up destroying it, for example), but the pleasant upside of the SeeSii is that it's compatible with Makita's LXT batteries so if the generic sketches you out you can get a name-brand juice box.

just got my next gen kobalt mid torque a few days ago. I have had their old compact for like 7 years and it has done exceptional. been dropped into tubs of oil left out in the rain, tossed into dusty gravel and keeps on ticking. this mid torque is a beast and i got a "scuffed" model with a 4ah battery and charger for $180. cant beat it. and it took off a honda pilot crank bolt which is supposed to be very difficult. I'm impressed. honestly cant beat the kobalts especially when compared to ridged ryobi craftsman etc. even takes out some of the big boys but at way lest cost

Not a bad choice whatsoever! I got my dad into the cobalt 24 V max line about six or so years ago. He’s never looked back. He’s even thrown out/given away/sold off some of his old guns as he was starting to have a very eclectic group of chargers sitting on his workbench. he is all blue now. If you haven’t popped for it yet snag yourself that high torque XTR half-inch drive cobalt and there won’t be anything you can’t takeoff. Their 3/8 right angle impact is also a beast as well. Believe it or not. For the price, it beats my IR 5330 3/8 inch drive right angle impact. The cobalt has more torque, a brushless motor, and an LED light.

Which 1/2" model? Because TTC has already tested the big brushless high torque Bauer already. The brushless mid-torques are pretty much just red Hercules models and they already tested the Hercules a while back. :)

Another great video. I personally try to stay with the brand that I have a bunch of batteries for, and seem to be decent overall. The off brands even if I didn't have a bunch of the one brands batteries, I would tend to stay away from for 2 reasons one would be everytime in the past that I purchased no name or lesser name cordless tools the batteries never seem to last very long. The second issue has been the price of replacement battery packs usually ends up costing 80% of what the tool costs. I had some early skill and Ryobi stuff that got lightly used around the house and only lasted a few months do to junk battery packs. I don't know about skill but it seems like Ryobi has come out with much better stuff now then when they started out. Keep up the great job with the videos.

Correct. I will never buy a Ryobi tool again, because I bought some of their tools in the past and their batteries died basically after a few charge cycles. I consider that to be theft, and dishonesty. Modern batteries in the cheaper tools are probably a lot better. I've noticed that the more expensive tools are all UL listed. And really, I've realized there is no reason not to buy into another brand now, because the big brands have such good batteries, the batteries last 10 years now. If you buy a Dewalt drill with a high capacity battery, you only need 1 battery for the next 10 years. I use tools daily at work, and my Milwaukee M18 "4.0" batteries are still going from 2014. I recently bought Flex power tools, because their circular saws are the best on the market. Milwaukee just doesn't have anything that can compete, in terms of build quality. So sometimes it's necessary to buy outside the brand.

What you have experienced is the difference between lithium batteries and ni-cad, etc batteries. I have a like new Ingersoll Rand 3/8 impact that has garbage ni-cad batteries caused by a lack of use. The batteries discharge fairly quickly when sitting and constant full discharge is very hard on the cells. Lithium cells have a very low discharge rate when in storage, as well as containing more energy. I also have a lot of old Hitachi and DeWalt ni-cad tools that are in excellent condition but have garbage batteries, I loved the tools but hated constantly replacing batteries. Then I have 18v Bosch lithium battery tools that see constant use and I haven't had a single battery fail in 10 years. I bought my Bosch tools back before the bare tool days so each tool came with 2 batteries, and on deck jobs in the heat of summer having a dozen packs cooling and charging keeps the work flowing. Now with bare tool sales only it costs a fortune to have that many batteries.

My biggest gripe with something like the ir or a snapon is the specialized batteries. Meaning that you can’t just go and buy the tool itself and add it to your collection of other tools that share a common battery, charger, etc. That’s the main reason I’ve gone to Milwaukee. The battery and charging station for my high torque impact is the same for my leaf blower, skill saw etc…. Having 6 different brand chargers is kind of annoying, especially in a limited garage space. I recognize that Milwaukee doesn’t always top the charts in every category, but at least I only have 2 chargers to run all of my cordless tools and I can buy just the tool when Im in need of adding one to my collection.

I have both the standard and compact SeeSii and they work very well. They seem to have sizing issues on the steel ring that locks the sockets on and that can be very frustrating when new. But I suspect the real penalty for "cheap" is likely to be in the battery cell quality. We all know that genuine battery packs from names like Milwaukee are heads and shoulders above the generic Ebay replacements. I worry that the Seesii probably comes with generic quality cells. But I guess if it becomes a significant problem, rumor has it that Makita 18V LXT packs will fit.

Those sub compact ridgid guns are insane but I ran through three In a year as a automotive mechanic! I’ve been a ridgid lover but their quality is taking a steep decline in my opinion. I’ve been leaning towards the yellow shelves and have been seriously debating the switch from ridgid to dewalt which all the other guys at my work have had for years and abuse and they still last!

Love my blue SeeSii 1/2 inch. Have been using it basically every day almost since the first Amazon impact video came out. Have opened it up and replaced the grease a few times but that's it. No problems whatsoever and it's been dropped quite a few times. Next purchase is going to be one of those Onevan 3/4 impacts with the metal housing. That one looks too nice to pass up. And takes the same Makita batteries as all of the other no-name tools. That's what I like about them. I have a million of those Makita LXT packs and the various knockoffs that come with different tools. Because all of them take those batteries, I can buy whatever brand and use my existing huge stash of batteries.

After seeing more tools like the Hercules with the hammer drill a couple months back iirc. It's music to everyone's ears seeing stuff like this. For as much as we like to assume that we "will 100%" be in need of a warranty, everything else from performance to longevity so far just shows the big brands are just that. Brands, like a your common 5$ white/blank t-shirt, with a supreme logo that retails for $50. MW can put lipstick on a pig & here we have SeeSii atleast catching up & giving them a nice slap on those rosy and fairly hairy cheeks. (lol) A mixed bag is what I think most people will gladly embrace, which is to say just whatever tool is "best" for their specific application, and fill their 'in between tools' with honestly a mix of again, Hercules, some Amazon, some Dewalt (their prices are great on amzn, more often than others on HD). 😅 & the best part is, we can look back years from now and see if that warranty meant as *much* as companies like to ingrain in our consumer-psyches, by the results of hundreds of tools used/abused and compared to their, 'top shelf' constituents. This too, includes harbor freight stuff, which is exciting actually. To this end I hope my autocorrect didn't butcher most of what I tried to write :/

I think for SeeSi to graduate to the next level of brand status, they probably need to ditch the Makita battery compatibility -- I'm sure Makita could pursue patent infringement if they so choose, and if a no-name brand became big enough, they just might decide to (for once).

Losing that and they are just another brand you need to buy their batteries and charger to use. Which they would need to basically start over. Offer a real 3-5yr warranty, be available in multiple places, sell batteries and tools separately. Then they would be compared to real brands which would put them in the middle assuming they could keep their price point. it would be tough, Plus Makita seems to go after no one for using their LXT batteries, and making a tool compatible with a brand's batteries is maybe even within patent rules - as it's a trade dress appearance patent not a utility patent after all.

Making a tool compatible with say the more advanced power metering and other communication that the big brand's batteries do probably would fall under IP, but at the end of the day battery compatibility at the most basic level is just having 2 bits of metal in the right spots, and I feel like that would be tough to argue on legally

I paid $89. for my SeeSii WH750 after using a discount SeeSii gave me and CC points. At this point, I couldn't be happier with it, but I've only used it twice so far. Gotta big car suspension repair coming up this summer, so we'll seesii how it does. Also need to mention that it comes with their new 5.0Ah battery, but who knows if that's bs. It looks and feels just like their 4.0. The only let down was the blown molded case which looks generic and only the battery fits well. Everything else flops around. I totally modded my case to hold everything more securely along with adaptors, extensions and whatnot. I think the Seesii impacts works exceptionally well the DIYer and would be fine for a pro in some cases, like being a backup while waiting for a warranty repair of your Mil or DeW. Just don't drop the mofo.

I haven't bought into a battery ecosystem, got an ancient DeWalt drill driver from before things had common batteries. I'm looking to get a 3/8 impact wrench for home garage work (I don't deal with much over 150Nm tight, think a 3/8" should be plenty?) but would like to also get a drill driver from the same battery system. It would be interesting to see how the WH760 performs vs. the WH750, since SeeSii somewhat deceptively changed the Amazon listing so it's the same product page, retaining all of the WH750's reviews and ratings. It's obviously a completely different model. The WH750 was a bit of an oddball, not even in SeeSii's usual blue color, so is likely not a good indication of the WH760's quality. There are a few reviews of the WH760, but no real hard numbers yet as to how it lives up to the claimed specs. The price has been down to $106 after all discounts (Prime + coupon + promo code), so it's tempting, but it now has Amazon's "frequently returned" warning, which doesn't give me a lot of confidence.

I bought into the Rigid ecosystem when I first got into powertools. Life Time warranty on all their stuff, free battery replacements etc. The odds of something breaking are always slim, but on the off chance a battery goes dead, or a tool breaks.. it's nice to know I'm not going to be out 100+ bucks to fix it. Are they the BEST tools out there, no. But for the price they are hard to beat.

I feel like these tools outcompeting Makita/Milwaukee/DeWalt etc. on price is the chickens coming home to roost for them all manufacturing in China and just keeping the difference rather than dropping prices. If Makita were made in Japan still (the NA versions I mean) or DeWalt and Milwaukee still made in the US, I might feel less bad about buying the China brands. Feeling very tempted by this SeeSii 2nd gen since it'll work with my Makita batteries and it's so dirt cheap.

Just because it’s cheap doesn’t mean it’s poor quality, it could be stolen tech. Stealing the tech means the manufacturer doesn’t need to pay for all the R&D.

IR currently showing at $399 on their amazon store but with a 3 year warranty. Pros will appreciate the warranty and parts support and write off the cost.

I know Ryobi isn't anyones favorite brand but i've been slowly replacing my tools with them. good 3 year warranty on their tools and i mostly buy on their "buy a battery get a free tool" days or just outright buy the tool. in my eyes it's a decent value. picked up 3 drills (tool only) used for $50. they were used and I won't use them too often anyway but it's great to have them on hand.

I love to see these types of tools make the reviews. The difference between the "chinese" brands and the others is usually mainly quality control, they're all made in china but some get better checks.

That Seesii isn't a bad knockoff of the Makita XWT17z for its price, but I've really put my genuine one through the wringer and it feels like new

Hey, in the last time Im looking for some Inspection cameras for a low budget(under 50 bucks) and with a built in screen. What I found is that some say those cameras are useless oftentimes for automotive work because of light and camera quality and some break quite quickly. Also I found that you cant find reviews for those cheap ones or generally tests. Maybe you could test those cameras, but than probably with a wider price budget…

As a tradesman of over 20 years, it’s not performance over price, as how often do I need all the ugga duggas promised by a drill. It’s how it feels in the hand and LONGEVITY which matters most. I use my makita batteries as a hammer when things are tight together. Never had a problem, and will continue paying the premium price, to have a quality product I can beat on daily.

I have an odd question but it deals with my ARP 625 head studs. So is it possible to use break away torque to get a general idea if a head stud was properly torqued in the first place? My head studs are to be torqued at 30 ft lbs then 60 ftlbs and last at 90ft lbs in that order and in a pattern. Well my passenger side head studs broke loose at about 90ftlbs and the driver side broke loose at 58ft lbs so could I suggest that the driver bolts might have skipped the final 90 Ft lbs torque iteration? I won’t post the whole story but my car is at a shop being diagnosed currently and this is the info they found and I’m just trying to get some input because it’s very important thank you for your time.

One critique, I have to say that Skil is doing a fantastic job of showing that cost is getting out of control. Obviously small odd names companies like Seesii are cheap but Skil is recognizable. Since Chevron bought them, the tools are quite good and their prices and warranty as outstanding.

I have 3/8” dewalt and the 1/2” See. When the dewalt will not break it I pull out the See and it kicks butt. Too bad the dewalt 1/2” is so expensive

The Seesii may be able to keep up with more expensive drivers, but I imagine it probably doesn't last as long when regularly used and/or their product support is basically non-existent.

Actually, product support at SeeSii is there. I've communicated with them a few times. You get a 3 year warranty with the WH750. Very nice and helpful folks.

My still functioning 20 year old 18v Dewalt tools I passed on to my daughter and her husband. I had repaired those tools several times with parts readily available from Dewalt and third party vendors. Don't talk to me about 3 years - talk to me about a 20 year service life with readily available OEM repair parts.

Do you ever take into account what voltage the battery packs come out at in whatever charger you're using? Different brands have different cutoffs, faster chargers will cutoff the smaller ~2ah packs much sooner than the >4ah packs, 12v batteries often go higher than 18v batteries, and the amazon brands go higher than anybody. The amazon brands will take an 18v battery pack up close to 4.3v/cell, or just under 22v for the pack, which you can get away with usually without fire and explosion, but it cuts your battery cycle life to nothing and isn't the safest. M12 batteries seem to go right to 4.2v or slightly above, I assume to take try get the most out of the smaller pack, the 5s2p >4ah packs usually cutoff around 4.15V/cell with a fast charger, which is probably the best place to be for performance and cycle life. But that same charger is too much for the smaller ~2ah packs to absorb and they'll cutoff early, coming off a new fast charger at around 4.05v/cell. But if you still have an old slow charger, like I've got several under 10w, it'll get the small packs up to 4.15v and above as well. Huge advantage for the amazon brands if theyll trade long term reliability and a little bit of safety to get the extra voltage in there, and the small packs are handicapped by the newest fastest fast chargers
