Thanks Gamesky, love your reviews. Like many, you are one of my go-to reviewers when I'm making a decision on which earbuds to purchase. Hey, just a note, the original Tozo NC9s (hybrid plus model) didn't have option to cycle through all three ANC modes, however, they were in ANC Off mode by default while sitting in the case. Once they were removed, then you could only cycle between ANC on/Ambient mode once you tapped the control.

Gamesky, great review, and I completely agree with your take on the NC9s. I had been looking for a replacement set of ear buds to replace 2 busted pairs of Jaybird Tarah Pro sets that I used at night to play podcasts as I sleep. I was searching for long battery life headphones, and these NC9's made the list. I figured it was worth giving them a shot since they were very budget friendly and had plenty of good reviews on Amazon. I paired the NC9 with Comply foam tips, and I am super impressed with the battery life, the comfort wearing them in bed as I toss and turn to get comfortable. Sound quality is impressive considering I had been spending at least double for my previous wireless headphone/buds. I went ahead and ordered a pair of the Tozo NC7's to throw into the nightly rotation, and they are also worth every penny. One thing I noticed was both my NC9 and NC7 toggle between transparency mode, ANC on, and ANC off, which I just leave mine with ANC off to maximize battery life, and paired with the foam tips I find that is plenty of sound isolation.

Found this pair works well for smooth Jazz, Sax specifically sounds GREAT! The Bass does not drown out the detail sound of the Sax, piano and even horns. Nice and Clean sounds. I don't get distracted by the bass and yet, it really is a clean sound for those of us that like instrumental. Haven't listened to Classical, yet. Great REVIEW on this pair of buds. Got a great deal on this set from a certain auction site! Highly recommended!

Contrary to the names I think the nc7 is an upgrade to the nc9. I think I heard someone say nc9 has better anc but the nc7 is pretty impressive to me. So much so that I returned both the mtw3 and buds2 pro after trying the nc7. But I only use them for work so the battery life sold me

I’m sure someone else has already commented this, but I just bought a pair of these last week (9/2024) and they have the ability to do ANC On, ANC Off, and Transparency mode again. Thank you for your review of the NC9's. I am a Tozo fan with having the T6, T12, and theT12 Pro. I've been contemplating buying the NC9 or NC7 only because I'm looking for something to help me hear people speaking when we have a family gathering. My hearing is in itself very good (frequency range from 22 to 13000hz roughly), and I am not interested in expensive hearing aids till I really need them. But all my life I've always had a problem with background noise prevailing over people talking, even when we are standing in close proximity to each other. It's kind of like my ears may not stick out enough to capture what is in front of me as opposed to behind me. So I am curious if the transparency mode of perhaps any earbud would suitably focus more towards the direction I am looking, and less on background noise. I would appreciate replies from anyone who cares to comment. I hope your new endeavor works well for you.

I had the og's and loved them! When I recently lost one and decided to replace, I decided to try the Tozo golden x1's because I wanted to satisfy the audiophile in me. Had them for one day and realized there is absolutely no need for me to have earbuds of such caliber. I typically only use one at a time (I'm a Nanny) so what's the point in having the best audio? I've already started the return process, but received the upgraded nc9's today, so I'll be pitting them up against each other just to see if the goldens are actually worth a full $100 more. Probably not for what I need. The og's were everything I needed and I thought the sound quality and quality in general was well above the price point. Can't wait to try these after work! Major plus that the upgraded nc9's work with the app now, as well. Also, I'm quite certain I had defective golden x1 because I fully charged them upon unpackaging, used them a total of maybe 5 min and after that, the case's battery drained from full to 4% without the earbuds ever being used again. So they're going back no matter what.

TOZO has impressed me though for NC wise i only have the NC2s .... While I am not sure they are worth $20 (there is always some discount on top of that) I have even been impressed with the only A "series" TOZO I have .. the A3s .... the soundstage could be improved but compared to others in that SUPER low price range, the sound is decent enough (mids could be "seperated a little more") and the quality overall ... is typical TOZO (that's a good thing)

With your nitpicking you never mentioned the tozo app. You can connect these to the app and change the sound of your earbuds to the music you'd like to listen to. For example if you like rap there is a higher bass or treble preset. And there are probably a good 20 presets or you could just make your own/customizable.

Great review, as usual, Keith. :) I have the NC7s (2022 version), which I love, so I was curious as to how these compared to those. It sounds like they're very similar, except that the NC7s have TOZO app support, and they *do* have an "ANC off" mode. In your experience with both, do you think there would be any reason to pick the NC9s over the NC7s? It seems weird to me to release the upgraded NC9s in this state when they already sell the NC7s for around the same price.

I'm thinking about soundpeats voice and tozo voices. 2 earbuds that I had to return because accidental touch trigger that very loud voice that ruin your 30 mins of relaxation. I'm sure there are thousands of people like me who find these some voice unbearable to the point to send back the products regardless of how good the product is because THE VOICE IS ANOYING and impossible to disable one touch . That would be great if you can do 1 video telling us what company force us this horrible voice by having the touch control lock... The Worst exemple for me is tozo NC7 😳

The main drawback of these brands is that they are absolutely not reliable. Loss of sound on one side or doesn't work at all, connectivity issues etc. You can't be 100% sure either on a brand name but still this is less common issue. And price can rise up to 80/100€ rn like some Jabra, Sony entry models. Better go for Donner/T6 buds once broken that's less of a problem considering the coast.

Yeah, it's hard for me to speak on longevity of earbuds due to always having to test so many and constantly moving on to the next ones. The Space A40 are great and sound a little more open than these. Bass is more prominent in the a40 where I fell the NC9 has better treble(brighter)

Is great that heavy bass headphones don't just focus on just Bass Boost, I can see that companies try to choose specific low frequencies to boost, for example, Buds2 Pro is a really deep bass, L3P is hard hitting, Link Buds S is Balanced, because headphones like WHXB900Ns, the bass wasn't muddy but is was just bass, lots and lots of bass, didn't mess with the treble but it wasn't enjoyable for me, at least that is the way I see it.
