You inspire me man! I’ve watched others like diesel tech Ron and In the shop, but seeing a guy that works in IT (like me) work on his truck gives me the courage to save some money and knock out stuff like this on my own. Keep up the good work and most importantly the honesty about the projects.

I appreciate your comment! You just have to be brave enough to start whatever project it is. I have zero experience in anything I've done in any of my videos.. I just research and read directions.. and I've got a reliable Powerstroke and a 1000hp race car out of it =)

Nice work man! I’ve been doing some of my own work on my new to me 6.0 as well as my wife’s Wrangler. Never had the confidence before!

I just bought a 6.0 Ambulance for a camper conversion. As Cummins Owner/Fan ,why not a challenge of the 6.0 I find you a hell of a lot more entertaining than the technical guys. Keep these videos coming.

One of the reasons that I enjoy your videos so much is that we have the same mechanical philosophy. If it ain't broke don't fix it. But if it is broke, I can figure out how to fix it. Changing an injector on the side of the road would just be stupid, since you can drive home on a bad injector. I would recommend a painters platform for working on the motor though. It's an aluminum platform with folding legs, so it folds flat, yet you can reach the whole engine compartment without the risk of it kicking out from under you. It's the perfect height and you don't have to keep moving it. Great job sir!

I just bought a painters platform for this reason! So glad you're enjoying the content. I wish I had more time to make more videos but Rome wasn't built in a day. Thanks for watching :)

On my '03, I started with the Atlas 40hp tune. And a few of the normal updates.... I loved it, actually picked up MPG and loved the power boost. 3 years later, had to replace the FICM, So was talked into stepping up to the 80 HP Tune, It makes the truck even more of a beast. But the MPG did drop a little. (i already had all the normal recommended update improvements for that tune) Unless your doing major hauling all the time. The 40 is IMO the way to go. Great video. Your putting out a enjoyable content.

Thanks for sharing I got a 6.0 and seems like it needs 2 new injectors. Truck has around 92k miles so we'll see if I can get the same success. Lol

I just took off both sides, probably about the same time you released this video. I too am not a mechanic, and was very apprehensive about doing it. I didn't have any codes for injectors, but was having a no start when hot. I replaced all the passenger side injectors and the stand pipes and dummy plugs on both sides. Fixed my issue, bur I think I need to replace my FICM.

Is it using coolant? I noticed your bottle is empty and if it has white smoke it could be a head gasket/EGR cooler is cracked and leaking. Curious to see more vids on her
@betterbeaters3 жыл бұрын
Funny you caught that. I suspect my EGR cooler may be going out. I filled the coolant that day and it's still full. Who knows where it went.

Why did you go with the Atlas 40? When it looms like they have a few other options. I'm in the process of having all 8 injectors replaced( By a mechanic) on my 2007 F250, plus a few other related items but never thought of changing the FICM.
@betterbeaters3 жыл бұрын
My truck is still running factory head bolts. I was worried about pushing it too far with Atlas 80 or really anything more. If (when) I blow a head gasket I may consider changing but the Atlas40 completely changed the truck. I am very happy with it.
@NickW903 жыл бұрын
Good job man. What was the difference with the atlas 40?
@betterbeaters3 жыл бұрын
Atlas 40 completely changed the truck. Instant throttle response.. no such thing as a cold start anymore. It just goes. Oh, and it will light up the tires without hesitation :)
