Companies have known for a long time that remote work improves productivity for some workers while decreases productivity for other workers; so it makes sense that they saw a net zero change due to either policy because this good policy matches the worker to the best productivity.

Hi there everyone! So good that you're deepening analysis on the remote work. So relevant to focus on the Capitalisation and Destructive Effects of the remote work in the context of Great Resignation and the AI Age.

I live in a city for which population growth has outstripped our road capacity and commute times are through the roof. I've thought governments should give a tax credit to companies as a way to reduce roadway congestion and construction/maintenance costs. As a bonus, fewer cars on the roads is good for the environment. Any studies looking at this?

There is absolutely no reason to commute with laptops to plug into a hot-desk to do the exact same thing I do from home. "Hybrid" should never mean a mandated number of days per week for no reason. "Hybrid" should mean that teams decide if and when they need to report to an office for "collaboration" or company "indoctrination." It's weird they come up with this prescribed number of days per week regardless of the nature of the job. It makes no sense. commute and pollute for no reason.

Hiring remote talent certainly opens up the talent pool but could take a significant investment of time sifting through more applicants because of the remote nature. Also, it seems to me that middle management would not know how to justify their positions if they weren’t in office seeing how the sausage actually gets made..effectively allowing them to report up the chain to executives they aspire to be someday.

It's just another big divide for those "intellectual jobs" who can work remotely and those "physical labor jobs" that cannot.
