Militant isn’t the correct term. Jihadist or terrorist is the correct term. Gaza was freed in 2005 after Israel left and left them an industry. It was left in the 80s (I believe) by Egypt. In the nearly 20 years since Israel left Hamas has attacked Israel in a major way at least 4 other times. The aid that Palestinians received for food, medicine, infrastructure was used for rockets, and for terrorist activity. UNRWA schools were used to hide rockets. Hospitals and mosques were also used. The population was starved by Hamas even though they received enough food to survive - without even including the things people in Gaza grow and herd. Gazans are indoctrinated to radicalism from birth. Many teachers, including UNRWA have been accused of spreading anti Jew hate and incited attacks. Every time there has been a peace deal for Palestine to create a state, Palestinians have attacked by blowing up busses and cafes and kidnapping people. October 7th was no different. Israel wants nothing to do with Palestine or Gaza. They were happy to provide medicine, treat patients, and help build infrastructure. Instead they got rockets fired at them made of the very pipes they sent to aid in water supply.

The explosion on the Merkava didn’t penetrate. You can see most of the blast getting directed away and if it would have gone thru there should have been an ammo cookoff because the Merkava dosent have blowout panels
