Dude 10 years ago I watched one of your videos of you doing custom ipads in cars, To me it felt like the most advance thing in a car at the time so I followed and learned and made my own molded in tablet holder out of fiberglass and put a original galaxy tab in there. Now being around 10 years later I find myself wanting to upgrade the system but with a new samsung tablet that can run android auto. As I was researching my second build I came back across your channel. Its cool to see your channel has grown and you are still making some awesome products! Although I build mine custom for my cars you have provided much inspiration for my personal project car :)

I had a 10th gen iPad kzbin.infoUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA . Felt it getting pretty slow at times even after doing a reset. So I am using that as a tablet for my 5 year old son and got this 9th gen version. MUCH faster, a little slimmer, smaller bezels, all around a leap forward. Plus, for the price that’s about $130-$150 cheaper than a current new model this is a nice deal. I look forward to the M-series CPUs coming into iPads which will really help future proof these tablets better but these latest CPUs are pretty strong and should do better to last several years with no compromises.

I had my permanent iPad 2 installed in my 2009 Silverado back in 2013. I think me and Jordan were the only two people in the states who has permanent iPads in our Silverados in the country back then.

I’m trying to install one in my jeep wrangler tj 2004 while still keeping the radio & old dash. You think I can do that by cutting out the middle? Maybe adding some “raisers” so the iPad doesn’t hit the radio buttons

Great work but I see u guys are Auto-body experts n know how n were everything is located but CLEARLY U GUYS don’t know about iOS Software n all it can do. iPads are a lot more powerful n can’t do a lot. More then what u think n Apple has created app n system that can connect to multiple accessories (displays, lights, cameras, motor, sensors…) and control them at will also creating automations so when some this happens do something as response. Yes this was create for homes, but u can say your car,RV is ur home. By connecting a OBD2 to the iPad it will give it information of ur cars sensors n activities there for allowing the iPad to connect everything in response to those singles. Also Apple security Key accessories (like the locks of ur home door) can be use to start ur car remotely safely or know how driving it by the cell, watch or any personal device, give acces to people for a time n so on. Now also imagine placing lights, cameras, sensors all wirelessly depending the location or wire if is a important security accessory n just telling the iPad to do/run specific actions depending the time of day, what this are on or what are for n more. Also using wirelessly speakers use for home theater in ur car with Atmos Audio (check Sonos wireless amplifiers). In shower u doing all this work to install the iPads to the cars n are only using 10% of all it can do. N yes it is safe n secure. I recommend u guys watch some HomeKit videos n acccesories that u can use in the care, like smart AC/Heat, Smart air purifier n dehumidifier, 18$ wireless sensors u can place around the car. N all u need is an iPad with a hub, OBD2 that can give u all the car information to the iPad and a portable internet hotspot with arouter that will connect everything together. (U can even buy those portable power stations that will work like an extra Battery for ur car that can keep devices on standby when the car is off like 24/7 cameras when movement is detected n keep the router on like the teslas do. Stop buying car accessories that cost 10X more when there are more advanced, cheaper, secure, n stronger build items for home use. If u going to use a home dashboard/iPad use accessory for it so u don’t have to connect all the extra stuff.
