Back in 2001 a commercial size jet left Los Angeles and used a computer program to fly to and land in Australia. It wasn’t manned or guided by satellite, it navigated by software and that was 23 years ago. You don’t need an external signal to guide drones.

Almost all of the clips shown in these stories show obvious commercial airliners and helicopters. Nav lights, strobes, landing lights, beacons all where you'd expect them to be. You can even see the silhouette of the entire aircraft in some of them! The only thing that scares me about this is how dumb people are.
